Ne 1431, e gjithe Shqiperia Jugore u perfshi ne federaten Osmane, dhe qyteti i Gjirokastres u kthye ne kryeqytetin dhe qender e Sanxhakut te Shqiperise Jugore. Ndersa Shqiperia Jugore u bashkangjit totalisht ne federaten Osmane, Shqiperia veriore edhe pse u bashkangjit ne kete shtet ruajti autonomi te theksuar ne vetvete. Me ardhjen e tij ne Shqiperi, pushteti Osman solli me vete kulturen e tij te larmishme, qe me vone do te behej edhe pjese integrale e identitetit Shqiptar. Nje fe e re, Islami, u perhap ne Shqiperi, ndermjet jugut ortodoks dhe veriut katolik, fe qe u kthye ne fene dominante te Shqiptareve. Edhe pse ne dekadat e para te shtetit Osman ne Shqiperi shume pak Shqiptare ishin Musliman, gjate shekullit te 17, rreth 50% e popullsise se Shqiperise veriore kaloi ne Islam. Katolicizmi Roman dhe Ortodoksia sllavo-helene tek e fundit ishin mbajtese te influencave te huaja ne Shqiperi, te mbushura nga gjuhe te huaja, dhe Shqiptaret ne krahasim me komshinjte e tyre Helen, Bullgar dhe Serb ishin ndjekes superfaqesor te ketyre feve.

    Chapter 7 EUrientation Anxieties Islamic Sexualities and the Construction of Europeanness Piro Rexhepi In an interview in 2009, Ismail Kadare who had just received the Prince of Asturias Award, addressing his position as a dissident writer in communist Albania, argued that, “what excited suspicion [by the Albanian communist regime] was, ‘why does the western bourgeoisie hold a writer from a Stalinist country in high esteem?’”1. Yet, the communist regime not only allowed the Albanian writer to travel to France (a very rare privilege reserved only for those close to the regime) but engaged in promoting his rise to prominence in European literary circles. For the communist regime, Kadare provided a historical fiction that, as Morgan argues, “represented Albanian identity as something native and authentic over and against Ottoman, Soviet or, later, Maoist, influences”, mirroring the regime’s desire to situate Albania, not only as a constitutive part of Europe, but as its guardian of the frontier between Europe and its eastern Others2. As Morley and Robins put it, This desire for clarity, this need to know precisely where Europe ends, is about the construction of a symbolic geography that will separate the insiders from the outsiders (the Others). Implicit in these words is the suggestion that the next Iron Curtain should divide Europe from, and insulate it against, the Islamic Other3. For the Europeans, Kadare presented an opportunity to gaze inside what was considered one of the most isolated communist regimes, providing semi- fictionalized Orientalist narratives of oppression and violence supposedly endured by Albanians under the Ottoman Empire, which he later argued was a metaphor for the communist regime.

INTRODUCTION Preservation and cultivation of national identity is a fundamental human right. First and most important sign of this identity is the mother tongue. Learning mother tongue in school means also learning about culture of the origin and its elements. Preservation and development of national identity is difficult in living conditions outside motherland1, and this is manifested much more in younger generations, especially among children born abroad. Therefore, the school is the most appropriate institution to developed and teach-learn linguistic and cultural competence with professional care, therefore, this school is already known as Albanian School of Supplementary Learning in Diaspora. Curriculum of Albanian School of Supplementary Learning in Diaspora, primarily is dedicated to Albanian children and youth (students) living abroad. This document is part of the permanent aim of new generation awareness raising in relation to the language and culture of origin, as an advantage, and in particular their personal and national identity, while on the other hand, a support for their integration in the society where they live.

Furthermore, we will discuss the influence of this matrix in Kosovan literary discourse, whether folk or authorial. The research will not include discussion of the doctrines, but the topic that emanates from them, which subsequently turns into literary discourse, whether symbolic-metonymic or metaphorical-allegorical, making the religiosity its distinctive aesthetics. In this chain of models, we will treat the ballad and poetic elements, as works of Albanian literature. This will create a view of the dominance of religion in them, nonetheless, it will likewise help investigate the differences regarding authorial access to religion, whether observed as faith or as a culture. Similarly, we will focus on the study of this martyrdom in the plan of discursive crossings from their presence, as rhapsodic songs in written texts or manuscripts, known as texts of Aljamiado. The Albanian poets of the period originally succeeded to create in Turkish, Persian and Arabic languages, where subsequently introduced this tradition to their Albanian creativity. Communist ideological studies had ignored, even deliberately overlooked, judging as the poetry and culture of the national enemy. But our research argues that this type of literature had an enormous influence in the culture and particularly in the national Albanian literature. Thus, the Albanian poetry, created within Ottoman poetical and aesthetic-philosophical systems, has left deep traces in Albanian mentality and culture and has occupied an important place in the structuring of the Albanian mentality. Our paper argues that this poetry tradition reflects the ontological and epistemological condition of the Albanian people for many * Prof. ass.
