Specification of Brazed aluminium plate fin heat exchanger A. Scope of Supply (Qty-1 No.) Fabrication and supply of brazed aluminium plate fin heat exchanger as per parameters described in Table-1. B. Bidder Qualification Criteria 1. Original Manufacturer must have enough experience and knowledge of complete manufacturing cycle of brazed plate fin heat exchanger. He must have experience in supplying brazed plate fin heat exchanger. The supplier shall submit/upload supporting documents (scan copy of purchase order) for the same along with bid. 2. If the bidder is not the original manufacturer then he must submit the details of original manufacturer/fabricator. And quotation will be accepted only when the original manufacturer/fabricator qualify the above mentioned criteria. C. Design Details and Requirements 1. The manufacturer will prepare all the fabrication drawings according to the details mentioned in Table 1, with necessary flow distributor,headers and nozzles for passage of low pressure and high pressure stream. It is manufacturer’s responsibility to prepare final fabrication drawings of complete unit with all necessary details and get written approval from purchaser before commencing the fabrication. 2. The heat exchanger shall be made as per the standard tolerances given in ALPEMA code for the external dimensions of brazed Aluminium plate-fin heat exchangers. Table 1. Acceptance Criteria The brazed aluminium plate fin heat exchanger is accepted after fulfilling the following requirements. D.1 At Manufacturer/Supplier Site 1. Following test reports/certificate has to be checked by the RRCAT representative during Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI): a) Material certificate for all the items showing chemical analysis, physical/ mechanical properties of all the materials used in the fabrication of the heat exchangers. b) Pneumatic test report (The heat exchanger has to be tested as per standard procedure given in ASME Sec VIII Div I.) 2. Helium leak testing using Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector (MSLD) shall be performed with the heat exchanger internal volume in presence of RRCAT representative. Volume of high pressure and low pressure individually shall be connected to the leak detector of minimum sensitivity of 1.0x10-9 mbar-liter/sec of helium with no traceable integral leak. Note: It is supplier responsibility to arrange all the necessary instruments and equipment to carry out the testing during PDI. D.2 At RRCAT Following tests/inspection will be carried out at RRCAT for final acceptance. 1. Visual inspection of the heat exchanger to check the damage during transportation. 2. Helium leak testing using Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector (MSLD). The heat exchanger shall have no traceable leak of order 1.0x10-9 mbar-liter/sec. 3. Thermal cycling of heat exchanger shall be performed at RRCAT using liquid nitrogen to detect the leak generated due to the cyclic cool-down and warm-up. Note: Even though the heat exchanger is accepted during PDI, the Manufacturer has the obligation and liability to repair or replace the manufactured heat exchanger if found not to be in compliance after testing at RRCAT. E. Documents Supplied along with the product 1. Following documents will be supplied along with the delivered product: a) Detail fabrication drawings of all the components and assembly. b) Material test reports for all the components. c) Pneumatic test report. d) Helium leak test (MSLD) report. 2. All relevant drawings and design data related to the supplied heat exchanger shall be the property of the Purchaser. These drawings cannot be used or reproduced without prior permission from purchaser by the manufacturer. F. Cleaning and Packaging 1. Before packaging the heat exchanger shall be properly cleaned in such a way that its internal and external surface must be free from grease, residue, dirt or any metal chips. 2. Packaging must be such that to protect the heat exchanger from damage during shipping and handling.
