Welcome to Kiddie Academy’s CampVentures 2019

Who’s excited for an amazing summer? I know we are! This could be the first time you’re attending our CampVentures Program or you’re an old friend returning. Either way, it’s time to prepare you for a fun summer. We have many new adventures planned and we are really excited to share our plans with you!

We understand summer is about fun, games, and activities… But who said we can’t incorporate learning in there, too? With CampVentures here at Kiddie Academy you get the best of both worlds. CampVentures is an all-day summer camp program that pushes the bar excitement! Kiddie Academy’s CampVentures turns your child’s ordinary summer vacation into a summer of exploration. Our program inspires imagination through exciting activities, field trips and special visitors, while balancing the individual needs and interests of each child in our care. CampVentures at Kiddie Academy of Islip is a must for any child who wants to socialize with friends, have fun, and take part in exciting, new experiences!

Each day the Campers are served a nutritious and delicious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. All the children have expressed their love of cooking and eating. On special snack days, we have quick and easy recipes for the children to prepare. Having the children engage in measuring ingredients, gripping the cooking utensils and mixing different ingredients together to make their own meals, helps enrich their fine motor skills, critical thinking and self-help skills.

Every week we will focus on a different theme designed to fill the children’s time full of arts, crafts, games, and adventures while enhancing each child’s cognitive and physical development as well as their fine and gross motor skills. Campers also have fun learning through play and a STEM Program, taught by qualified Camp Teachers. Every activity mixes fun with high-quality instruction that is tailored to each child’s individual need and developmental level.

A consistent part of our schedule, all summer long will be Park Monday’s, Water play Wednesday’s, Show and Share Thursday’s and Field Trip Friday’s. Every Monday we will take a walk down to Beaver Dam Park, play on the playground and engage in team . On Wednesday’s we will have a ton of fun with wet and wild water activities. We do ask that on Wednesdays, each child brings in their bathing , towel and water . Thursday’s the children will have the opportunity to bring in an item from home and share it with their friends (no electronics please!). CampVentures will have one off-site Field Trip per week on Fridays! Please check the schedule for specific dates. All campers attending a field trip must wear their summer camp T-, , and sneakers. Every child is asked to bring in non-aerosol Sunscreen, bug repellant wipes, any unwanted magazines and an old shirt to use as a smock for our summer activities!

At Kiddie Academy, STEM is an integral part of CampVentures. With the Project Approach, our children are encouraged to be scientific thinkers through hands-on experiments that allow them to discover the natural environment around them. Technology skills are enhanced through interactions with simple and scientific tools, as well as individual and group participation with an interactive Smart Board and classroom Engineering is the focus when the children are using critical thinking and problem solving skills to engage in projects that promote team work and discovery of how things work and real world engineering problems. The children are invited to participate in mathematical activities that encourage them to solve problems, increase their number sense, focus on geometry skills, practice measurement skills, and improve knowledge of spatial relationships. The Teachers will be implementing a “Daily Challenge” every week; they will have a variety of experiments to work on.
