At Södertörn, for more than six years (2000-2006) – he was Research Director for a major Evaluation Program on Metropolitan Development. Since June 2004 he is also a board member of its Institute of Contemporary History. His main research topics are urban development and social policy – integration, social exclusion and urban management – as well as the macro-historical development of the welfare state. Email: [email protected] John Hudson is Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of York, United Kingdom and Vice-Chair of the Joint University Council Social Policy Committee. He has pre- viously worked at Brunel University, the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and in the UK Parliament and has been a Visiting Scholar at University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney. His research and teaching revolves around three key interests: the social policy implications of the 'information age'; the politics of the so- cial policy making process; and, the comparative political economy of welfare. Email: [email protected] Paul Stubbs, a UK born sociologist, has lived and worked in Zagreb, Croatia since 1993. Currently, a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Economics, Zagreb and an associate of the Globalism and Social Policy Programme and the South East European Research Centre, a collaboration between City College, Thesaloniki, Greece and the University of Sheffield, UK. Main research interests include: International Actors and Social Policy; Civil Society and Social Movements; Policies and Translation; Computer-Mediated Activism; and Corporate Social Responsibility. Works as a consultant for UNICEF, the EU and other international organisations on social protection and social inclusion policies and programmes. His new book, co- edited with Bob Deacon, „Social Policy and International Interventions in South East Europe“ is about to be published by Edward Elgar. Email: [email protected] Noemi Lendvai, Lecturer-Researcher, The Institute for Social and European Studies, Berzsenyi College. She studied social policy and social work at ELTE University Bu- dapest, before she took an MA in Political Science at Central European University. Her doctoral research at the University of Bristol looked at the impact of EU Acces- sion on social policy-making in Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia, and later as a Post- doctoral Fellow, she continued to work on the role of the EU in the transformation of welfare in Central and South Eastern Europe. Hungary. email: [email protected] Vlado Puljiz is a full time professor at the Law School at the University of Zagreb and Head of the Social Policy Section within the Study Centre for Social Work. He is a long- standing representative of Croatia in the Social Cohesion Committee of the Council of Europe. More important social policy publications include (published in Croatian language): Social Reforms in the West – From Charity to Welfare State (1997), Sys- tems of Social Policy (editor and leading author) (2000) and Social Policy (editor and leading author) (2005). Email: [email protected] Nano Ruzin has a PhD in Political Sciences and is professor at the Institue of Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Philosophy, Skopje. His bibliography includes more than 200 published articles as well as 7 books, from which 4 serve as student manuels at the Faculty of Philosophy: Social Policy (2001, 2004) Contemporary Systems of Social Protection (1995,2006) European Idea: from Utopia to Reality (1996) and European Social Law (2002). His research activty included particpation in the projects: Conflict Prevention in thr Balkans (1996) conducted by the Institute for Peace Studies (UEO) Paris; Democratization of the states in the Central and Eastern Europ (1999) finanaced by the Council of Europe; Dictonary of social protection (1997/98) within the PHARE/CONSENSU programmes. Since 2001 he is also an Ambassor of Republic of Macedonia to NATO. Email: [email protected] Maja Gerovska Mitev is assistant professor at the Institue of Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Philosophy, Skopje. She is active in teaching and research in the filed of: Social Policy, European Social Policy as well as International Organizations and Social Policies. Her recent research work includes: Study of Social Protection and Social Inclusion in Macedonia (co-athored and published by European Commission), Chapter on Macedonia in the co-edited book by Bob Deacon and Paul Stubbs „Social Policy and International Interventions in South East Europe“ published by Edward Elgar. She is is also enaged in cooperation/consultancy with international organizations such as European Commission, UNDP, European Training Fondation, Friedrich Ebert on the issues of social inclusion, ethnic communities and social inclusion, social policy governance etc. Email: [email protected] Jovan Pejkovski is profesor at the Institue of Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Philosophy, Skopje. His teaching and research areas include: Social Development, Social Policy and Economy of public services. He cooperates with the Faculty of Economy in Prilep and with the University American College – Skopje in the areas of Economic policies and Development, and Enterpereneurship and the European Union. He has published over 120 scientific articles. He is also memebr of the editorial bord of the journal Econopmy and Buisness from Skopje. He is the author of the book ‘Enterpeneruship and Developement’ , co-author of the monogrpahy “Republic of Macedonia as well as the author of the team of Macedo- 5 REFRAMING SOCIAL POLICY: nian Academy and Sciences which has prepared the Economic Strategy of the R. Ma- cedonia. Email: [email protected] Drenka Vukovic is Full-time professor at the University of Belgrade, Faculty for Political Sciences, within the Department of Social Work and Social Policy. She is engaged in teaching of the following undergraduate courses: Systems of Social Security, Methods and Techniques of Social Work. Her areas of research and expertise include: Pensions systems, Health insurance systems, Unemployment, Child protection, Social Protection, Poverty, Comparative Systems (EU, transitional countries); Social Work: with elderly, families, refugees, social work and social security. Recent publications: co-authored with Ana Cekarevac ‘Social Policy in the Process of European Integration’ (in Serbian) 2006, Systems of Social Security (in Serbian) 2002, Social Rights in the System of Social Security – comparative review (in Serbian) 1999. Email: [email protected] Natalija Perisic is Teaching Assistant at the University of Belgrade, Faculty for Po- litical Sciences, within the Department of Social Work and Social Policy. Her re- search activity include: team member of the project - Social Policy Reform Within the Frame of the Overall Social-Economic Reforms in Serbia and the Process of Associa- tion and Accession of Serbia and Montenegro to the European Union, team member of the project: The Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia.
