Degree College, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. ABSTRACT: Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh is known for Konda Dora tribe. Konda Dora tribe is divided into a number of clans such as Korra, Killo, Swabi, Ontalu, Kimud, Pangi, Paralek, Mandelek, Bidaka, Somelunger, Surrek, Goolorigune olijukula etc., Konda Dora are very dominant in the district. Frequent field trips were conducted in Konda Dora rich areas to collect the Traditional Botanical Knowledge and Ethno- medicinal plants used by the Konda Dora. Because of modernization, all the ethno-botanical knowledge is declining day by day, so there is an urgent need to document the knowledge of ethnic people. Here 68 plant species belong to 63 genus of ethno- medicinal value were recorded from Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, India. INTRODUCTION Tribal communities are considered to be forest dwellers living in harmony with their environment. They depend heavily on plants and plant products for making food, forage, fire, beverages and drinks, dye stuff and colouring matters, edible and non-edible oils, construction of dwellings, making household implements, in religious ceremonies, magico-religious rituals etc. a close association with nature has enabled tribal people to observe and scrutinize the rich flora and fauna around them for developing their own traditional knowledge and over the years, they have developed a great deal of knowledge on the use of plants and plant products as herbal remedies for various ailments. -

INTRODUCTION: Vidarbha (19° 21”N and long 76° 80”E) is an eastern part of Maharashtra state and is outside the Deccan trap area and falls geologically in the Gondwana formation. It is border the state of Madhya Pradesh to the north, Chhattisgarh in the east, Telangana in the south and Marathwada and Khandesh regions of Maharashtra in the west. Situated in central India, Vidarbha has its own rich, cultural and historical background distinct from rest of Maharashtra, Besides in archaeological remains. Nagpur having Archaeological evidence at every part, the Prehistory Branch of the Archaeological Survey of India, Nagpur has reported Middle Palaeolithic and Upper Palaeolithic sites from the district (IAR 2002-03: 145-148). A notable discovery was of a Neolithic celt made on schist (Adam Excavation 1987-1996) a very less countable prehistoric site in situated Vidarbha region. After that early Mauryan and Mauryan activities in this area and majority of sites are belongs to Satavahanas period. We found archaeological evidences ranging from prehistoric period to modern era at every part of Vidarbha and particularly in Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara and Gondia districts which are known to archaeologist for burial of Megalithic people. -

Rana1 1SPIC, GPS, WOB, ONGC, Mumbai *[email protected] Abstract Penetration of seismic energy below basalt and generation of sub-basalt imaging has always been a challenging task for seismic exploration. Strong inter-bed multiples always mask the weak reflections coming from sub-basalt formations. Severe scattering of seismic energy due to heterogeneity of basalt layer further complicates the problem which results in the lowering of frequency content of the data and also velocity model building for imaging becomes highly challenging. Padra Field in South Cambay Basin, India is no different, where basaltic Deccan Trap is the technical basement. Conventional PSTM vintages of this area imaged shallow sedimentary part only without much success in imaging the sub-basalt part. These challenges have been addressed and successful sub-basalt imaging is being achieved through full azimuth sub- surface angle domain processing. In this paper we describe a workflow designed to better image the basement, and fine scale features within the basement, at Padra Field. Introduction Sub-basalt imaging continues to provide a challenge in the Padra area. The ability to image seismically the subsurface below the basalts is limited by the fact that basaltic layers are characterized by the poor penetration because of high reflectivity contrasts at the top of the basalt and also due to intra basalt discontinuities, attenuation and strong internal scattering of seismic energy due to heterogeneity of basalt layer resulting lowering of the frequency content of the seismic data. -

Since ages they have a fanatic belief on supernatural power within the tribal religion not only across India but also across the world. There are three indispensable elements i. Existence of superhuman and relationship with superhuman refers to the value system ii. Practices various rites and rituals lead to maintain relationship, to build up action system and to control the society.
