Sahuarita and the entire state of are in a unique geographic location. Arizona is one of the Four Corners states. It borders New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and California, touches Colorado, and has a 389 mi (626 km) international border with the states of Sonora and Baja California in Mexico.

DRIVING

Sahuarita in relation to the Southern region of the State

Traveling north, runs through the Town of Sahuarita. I-19 starts in Nogales, Arizona, passing through the towns of Rio Rico, Tumacacori, Tubac, Amado, Green Valley, Sahuarita and ends at Tucson where it joins the artery. Nogales is approximately 47 miles south of Sahuarita (approximate drive time: 45 minutes).

Sahuarita in relation to the most metropolitan cities in the State

Sahuarita is located 23 miles south of Tucson, which is the second largest city in the state (approximate drive time: 20 minutes), and about 132 miles south of the state’s capital and largest city, Phoenix (approximate drive time: 2 hours). Yuma is the third largest city in the state, about 257 miles (approximate drive time: 3 hours and 40 minutes) to the West. Yuma is the last metropolitan city before leaving Arizona and entering California. The most northern and fourth largest city in the state is Flagstaff. At nearly 7000ft elevation, Flagstaff is a stark contrast to the desert regions typically associated with Arizona. To escape the summer heat of the Arizona desert, travel northbound 277 miles (approximate drive time: 4 hours and 10 minutes) and enjoy the mountain air.

Union Pacific Railroad For businesses transporting materials and merchandise, Union Pacific Railroad tracks run through Tucson, Arizona as well as to Nogales, Arizona via Sahuarita. Amtrak Travel from one coast to another and watch the American landscape reinvent itself. Amtrak’s Sunset Limited operates between Florida and California, along its southernmost route. Settle back and watch the Gulf Coast, Bayous Country, Mexican border, southwestern deserts and California mountains pass by your window. Three trains depart weekly in each direction. Local transportation

Download a copy of the Sun Shuttle. Sun Shuttle is the only circulator mode of transportation for the Sahuarita/Green Valley area at this time. There are private companies such as Class Act Transportation, Carries Coaches, Cavalier Express, or Green Valley Go-Fers, that residents in these areas can call for a ride to the doctor, airport, etc. but no there currently is no other service like Sun Shuttle.
