Même si tous respectent, présentement, le même satané sulfureux séminal panthéon : Captain Beefheart, The Stooges, Velvet Underground, The Cramps, le Gun Club, The Birthday Party, The Scientists, Tom Waits, Violent Femmes & Passion Fodder, Einstürzende Neubauten, The Wreckery, Lubricated Goat & The Beasts of Bourbon, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Crime and The City Solution & Chrome Cranks, PJ Harvey, Jim Jones & Jon Spencer, Gallon Drunk & Flaming Stars, The Dirty Three & Sixteen Horsepower, Swans & Suicide, dirions-nous. Merle Leonce Bone © .

KID CONGO POWERS DOUBLE RECORD RELEASE PARTY KID CONGO POWERS DOUBLE RECORD RELEASE PARTY Tonic, March 3, 2006 Kid Congo Powers is celebrating the release of two albums on March 3, 2006 at Tonic. The first, Solo Cholo, is a career-spanning compilation focusing on the legendary guitarist’s work as a vocalist and songwriter from 1985 to the present. The second, Philosophy and Underwear, is the debut recording of his current New York band, Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds - in which Kid not only sings, but also plays blistering dual guitars with ace Jack Martin (Knoxville Girls, Honeymoon Killers, etc.). After twenty-five years in the recording business (The Cramps’ Psychedelic Jungle was 1981), these two albums are the first full-length recordings that focus on Kid’s songs. The event also marks New York Night Train (www.newyorknighttrain.com) webzine’s debut as a record label. For this momentous occasion Kid has gathered an all-star cast of collaborators, friends, and favorites that will amount to one of the most unusual assemblages of underground figures in downtown history. The headliner is of course Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds. The Birds will also back up Thalia Zedek (ex-Come, Live Skull, Uzi, etc.) on a few Gun Club numbers (Zedek is the vocalist who reminds Kid most of Jeffrey Lee Pierce). Another highlight of the evening is the reunion of the original New York version of Congo Norvell – Kid, Sally Norvell (actress, ex-Norvells, Prohibition, etc.), Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Vanity Set, ex-Sonic Youth, Cramps, etc.), Paul Wallfisch (Botanica, ex-Firewater, Love and Rockets, etc.), and Brian Emrich (film composer, ex-Foetus, Toasters, etc.).

As fate would have it, the band wound up releasing an album chock full of gems Pollard had stockpiled, and for the first time sounded distinctly like the band that fans have since come to love. "Propeller" also marks the return of Tobin Sprout to the GBV fold, along with an increased songwriting presence. "Propeller" is a hell of a ride, and remains one of the most important albums in the band's discography.

PUBLIC COLLECTORS Records Collection Inventory of: Marc Fischer Chicago, IL, USA About PUBLIC COLLECTORS Public Collectors consists of informal agreements where collectors allow the contents of their collection to be published and permit those who are curious to directly experience the objects in person. Participants must be willing to type up an inventory of their collection, provide a means of contact and share their collection with the public. Collectors can be based in any geographic location. Public Collectors is founded upon the concern that there are many types of cultural artifacts that public libraries, museums and other institutions and archives either do not collect or do not make freely accessible. Public Collectors asks individuals that have had the luxury to amass, organize, and inventory these materials to help reverse this lack by making their collections public. The purpose of this project is for large collections of materials to become accessible so that knowledge, ideas and expertise can be freely shared and exchanged. Public Collectors is not intended, nor should it be used for buying and selling objects. There are many preexisting venues for that. Collectors can accommodate viewers at whatever location is most com - fortable or convenient for them. If their collection is portable or can be viewed in a location other than the collector’s home, this would still be an appropriate way to participate in the project. In addition to hosting collection inventories and other information, www.publiccollectors.org includes digital collections that are suitable for web presentation, do not have a physical material analog, or are difficult or impossible to experience otherwise.

MAINTAINING OUR RAGE: INSIDE AUSTRALIA’S LONGEST-RUNNING MUSIC VIDEO PROGRAM. By Narelle Gee BA/DipEd (University of NSW) A thesis submitted in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Creative Industries) School of Media, Entertainment, Creative Arts, Film, Screen and Animation Creative Industries Faculty Queensland University of Technology 2015 Key Words ABC Music Television Alternative Music Music Videos Australian Broadcasting Corporation Popular Music Australian Cultural Industries Production Cultures Australian Television Public Service Broadcasting Creative Labour rage Cultural Production Television Broadcasting Media Culture Television Production Music Industry TV Programs 2 Abstract The thesis, “Maintaining our rage: inside Australia’s longest-running music video program”, takes a reflective and reflexive narrative journey across the decades of rage, from its 1987 creation through to the program’s current incarnation, providing unique insider perspectives and affordances. Australia’s longest-running music video program is also, arguably, the most sustained such program globally (Bodey, 2012; Helper, 2012). Despite its longevity, there has been scarce scholarly analysis of rage, and of what has underpinned its unusual endurance; many music video programs have come and gone during the program’s long-held tenure. How has rage survived the vicissitudes of network programming – particularly within the capricious space of music video programming - and maintained its cultural place and role, for more than a quarter of a century? The significance of this research is that it explores rage’s unusual durability, examines the program’s unique elements, and answers three key research questions: What has been the history of rage as a program and a cultural entity? What has been the cultural significance of rage? How did rage create a shift within the music industry ecology of Australia? This thesis presents an insider’s account of rage, exploring it within its ABC TV and public broadcasting context.

Some of the wildest, noisiest and most unrelenting hardcore was produced in the Great-Lake states at the end of the 1980s. These were the areas where the legacy of MC5 and Stooges was still alive, and the new generations lived up to it. Wisconsin boasted two of the least orthodox bands. Die Kreuzen (2) bridged the original punk anti-heroes with the post-punk heroes of the 1990s. The hardcore miniatures of Die Kreuzen (apr 1984 - jul 1984) harked back to the Germs, but the singer sounded like a homicidal madman, as opposed to an agonizing suicidal maniac. Their melodramatic skills peaked with the better-structured and proto- grunge Century Days (dec 1987/jan 1988 - jul 1988). Killdozer (2) specialized in antics that were simultaneously grim, ruthless and magniloquent. Intellectuals Are The Shoeshine Boys Of The Ruling Elite (nov 1983 - ? 1984) and Snakeboy (mar 1985 - sep 1985) mixed Birthday Party and Cramps with sheer revulsion, and occasionally delved into the most harrowing blues psychodramas since the Doors.

Sänger Max Decharné ist als Buchautor nicht weniger erfolgreich ( „Straight from the fridge, Dad“, „Hardboiled Hollywood“, “King's Road: The Rise and Fall of the Hippest Street in the World” u.a.
