Thomas Cook, ACCSES LTSS Committee Chair, will kick things off with the inspiring story of the Michael McNesby Full Funding for Adults with I/DD Act, important legislation that became Delaware law this year thanks to the efforts of the Ability Network of Delaware. We will transition then to a discussion of in a highly regulated environment. Some of you may recall Jim Whittaker joining an LTSS call last year to talk about The ARC Jacksonville Village; he was a popular guest and we have invited him to join us in person this year to further share the story of the Village and how it came to be. ACCSES also likes the opportunity to showcase the important work of ACCSES members. Dennis Dapolito and Lisa Ciccolelli will discuss ServiceSource’s housing initiatives that support individuals with disabilities to live in and be part of their local communities. Specific initiatives include Duval Park, an intentional community for veterans with disabilities in Clearwater Florida; Homes For Independence, a scattered site portfolio of condominiums for individuals with disabilities in Florida and North Carolina; and Friendship , an intentional and transitional community for individuals with cognitive disabilities in partnership with Highland Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
