Katholische Jungschar 2Dreikönigsaktion014 JB_Umschlag2014_v03.indd 1 02.07.2015 17:25:15 2014 war ein Jahr der Jungschar-Highlights! In allen Tätig- keitsfeldern der Jungschar wurden Jubiläen gefeiert oder Veranstaltungen auf die Bühne gebracht. Wir freuen uns, im vorliegenden Jahresbericht auf viele gelungene Projekte zurückblicken zu können. Drei Highlights, die uns persönlich im vergangenen Jahr besonders bewegt, beschäftigt und motiviert haben, möchten wir herausgreifen: Zu Beginn des Kalenderjahres feierten wir 60 Jahre Stern- singen. Die Sternsingeraktion begann klein und bescheiden und ist mittlerweile ﬁ xer Bestandteil der Weihnachtszeit geworden. Dass sie auch 2014 so erfolgreich war, verdanken wir den vielen aktiven Helfer/innen, dem unermüdlichen Ein- satz der Kinder in den Pfarren und der Spendenbereitschaft der Bevölkerung, die alle zusammen ganz konkrete Zeichen für eine gerechte Welt setzen. Im Sommer setzte die Katholische Jungschar als lebendige Gemeinschaft ein unübersehbares Zeichen: Zum ersten Mal fand ein österreichweites Jungschar- und Ministrant/innen- lager für Mädchen und Buben statt – das Kaleidio. 1.700 Jungscharkinder, Gruppenleiter/innen und Helfer/innen trafen sich in Linz und verbrachten eine unvergessliche Sommer- woche, in der das gemeinsame Erleben und der direkte Austausch im Mittelpunkt standen. Der Herbst stand für uns wieder ganz im Zeichen der Kinder- rechte. Zum 25-jährigen Bestehen der UN-Kinderrechtskon- vention veranstalteten wir eine KINDERpressekonferenz, auf der Kinder selbst zu Wort kamen und ihre Fragen an die Podiumsgäste stellten. Sie setzten ein starkes Zeichen für mehr Partizipation von Kindern in unserer Gesellschaft. Derartige Projekte wären undenkbar, gäbe es nicht die jahre- lange Arbeit mit den Kindern, die von vielen Gruppenleiter/in- nen, Helfer/innen und Mitarbeiter/innen regelmäßig geleistet wird.

Mit großer Freude und Dankbarkeit blicke ich auf das erste Jahr als Geschäftsführerin der MIVA zurück. Im Jahr 2013 wurde mit knapp 5,6 Millionen Euro das zweitbeste Spendenergebnis seit der Gründung vor 65 Jahren erzielt. An dieser Stelle danke ich allen SpenderInnen für die Treue zur MIVA, die großartige Unterstützung und das damit verbundene Vertrauen! Mit den Gesamtspendeneinnahmen von insgesamt 5,6 Millionen Euro unterstützte die MIVA im Jahr 2013 insgesamt 370 Hilfsprojekte mit 2.821 Transportmitteln in 56 Ländern der Welt. Den größten Teil unserer Spendeneinnahmen konnten wir wie jedes Jahr bei der ChristophorusAktion erzielen, bei der die AutofahrerInnen gebeten werden, „Einen ZehntelCent pro unfallfreiem Kilometer für ein MIVA-Auto“ zu spenden. Stolze € 1,7 Millionen Euro wurden gespendet. Die alljährliche MaiAktion kommt Laienmitarbeitern der katholischen Kirche, den Katechisten, zu Gute.

The European Global Education Peer Review Process North-South Centre Austria of the Council of Europe The European Global Education Peer Review Process was initiated in the framework of the Maastricht Declaration on Global Education in Europe. This process highlights good practice and engages in critical review of Global Education policy and provision in member states of the Council of Europe. Countries reviewed so far include Cyprus, Finland, the Netherlands and, with this report, Austria. The Peer Review Process on Global Education in Austria consulted and involved Austrian ministries, agencies, non-governmental organisations, civil society, other sectors; and the Austrian Strategy Group for Global Education. The international Peer Review of Austria included reviewers Global Education in from Finland, Germany, Ireland and Slovakia. The European Peer Review Process has been supported by InWEnt and BMZ, Germany; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luxembourg; the Austria National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development (NCDO), the Netherlands; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands; the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the National Board of Education of Finland; Irish Aid and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), along with the other member states of the North-South Centre. Criteria for Project Selection 1.1 Our Principles On the basis of Catholic social teaching and human rights, in our specific areas of operation we attribute particular significance to the following principles: ° Solidarity with the exploited and marginalized ° Dialogue with our partner organisations ° A holistic view of people, groups and societies ° Community oriented for an equitable distribution of resources ° Sustainability in the use of natural, social and economic resources ° Participation through the active involvement of those affected ° Mindfulness in encounters with different cultures, generations and in gender issues ° Effectiveness in terms of long-term changes in situations of poverty and injustice The aim of our project and programme work is to improve effectively the long-term living conditions of people in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Oceania. The strategic direction of our work is oriented towards country strategies that are developed with the participation of partner organisations. DKA Austria prioritizes the following areas in its project and programme work. 1.2 Geographical Focus Effective development cooperation requires a good knowledge of local conditions. We are therefore committed to long term efforts in a limited number of countries and regions. RAMIREZ There is no doubt that the Church has played a significant role in the work of Charity and Justice in the Relations among Nations. My paper underscores the need for a process of creating a movement of thought derived from the practice of global solidarity among diverse organizations in the Catholic Church as well as in ecumenical and interfaith groups. If the PASS has always been studying the on-going processes and ideas of the active role of Civil Society in resolving the basic social question as a result of economic globalization and commercialization, it is equally imperative for PASS to understand on a much deeper level the on-going movements nationally and internationally of Church entities and interfaith groups which since the 1950s have been striving to practice Charity and Justice in the relations among nations. A study of this nature may bring a new enlightenment of the possible organic stage of growth of programs towards global solidarity implicitly motivated and further deepened by Christian Love and Faith and/or by values of their respective religious persuasions. This paper contains also my personal testimony of the global solidarity that I have experienced in the five decades of my life first as a Young Chris- tian Worker and later as Professor and President of a Manila-based Social Science Graduate School with a difference in that it integrates the various learning components of its programs – the academic, research and social development of grassroots partner communities towards transformative praxis rooted in a Living Faith.

A Bibliography of the Bible in Africa
A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE BIBLE IN AFRICA Grant LeMarquand Trinity School for Ministry Ambridge, PA USA This bibliography is an updated version of a listing which was first published in 1993. The present version is an attempt to list all known works of biblical interpretation produced by Africans, for Africa, or about African interpretation. Included in this version is a listing of book reviews and abstracts which have appeared in various publications describing many of the works listed here. The listing of reviews and abstracts may prove to be especially helpful in cases where it is difficult to aquire a copy of the original essay or book. Although this work has the purpose of being comprehensive, it is probable that I have missed numerous items which should be included in this list. I wish to apologize to any whose works have escaped my attention. The bibliography is divided into five sections. Section one lists bibliographical sources. Some of these sources are periodical publications which should be consulted for future contributions to the growing corpus of works of African exegesis. Although there are few annotations in other parts of the bibliography, this section is quite thoroughly annotated. The second section is entitled “Studies of the Use of the Bible in Africa / Hermeneutics.” Works in this section elucidate various aspects of biblical interpretation in Africa, especially the relationship between culture and interpretation. The third section lists works on “Africa and Africans in the Bible.” Since this division of the bibliography deals with texts which have received extensive treatment from non- Africans, many more works could have been listed I have included only those publications written by Africans (including Africans of the ‘diaspora’) and any others who focus on the ‘Africanness’ of the texts in question.

The first concerns the Among PeoplesandNations environment and sustainable development...This brings us to a second challenge which involves our conception of the human person and consequently our relationships with one another...A third challenge relates to the values of the spirit. Pressed by economic worries, we tend to forget that, unlike material goods, those spiritual goods which are properly human expand and multiply when communicated: unlike divisible goods, spiritual goods such as knowledge and educa- tion are indivisible, and the more one shares them, the more they are possessed...To meet these challenges, only love for one’s neighbour can inspire within us justice at the service of life and the promotion of human dignity.
