Men’s Participants must be born after 23rd October 2000

RULES AND REGULATIONS

- Participants must be 16 or (born on or before 23rd October 2000).

- Players must wear cricket whites or at a minimum team uniform top, at all times during the tournament. Shoes: Trainers or indoor shoes are allowed. Studs or spikes not permitted.

- Any player playing in this tournament will not be permitted to consume alcohol or smoke any substance whilst participating. If a player is found to be in breach of this rule, that player will be immediately disqualified from the tournament. Team Captain will be responsible for the discipline of his team.

- Violent and aggressive conduct, whether physical or verbal, is strictly prohibited. Any player found to be in breach of this rule, whether it be towards umpires, opposition, team-mates, supporters, organisers, venue staff or any other person, will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.

Structure

- Teams: Teams shall consist of six (6) players, plus two (2) reserves that may play in any match and may bat and bowl as a substitute for any player who may be incapacitated.

- Side: The batting side shall bat until the last man is out, provided that the fielding side has not finished their allotted five (5) overs. A batsman shall retire once he scores 20 runs. If the other batsmen are bowled out before the fielding side all five (5) overs, the retired batsman may return to the and continue batting to complete the allotted overs.

- Fielding Side: The fielding side shall bowl five (5) overs of six (6) balls each. A player shall be allowed to bowl one (1) over maximum in each inning.

o Fielding: Besides a bowler and a keeper, one player should field behind the batting , two players should field between the and batting on the off and/or leg side and one player should field behind the bowling wicket ( area).

- Bowlers: The bowler’s -up shall be limited to eight (8) yards. Umpire will decide the legitimate ball based on bowler’s throwing action.

- Wides: Any ball on the leg-side will be called . A ball crosses outside the marked line on the offside will be called a wide by the umpire. A penalty of four (4) runs shall be added to the batting side’s score; however an extra ball shall not be included in the over, apart from in the final over of the innings where a wide ball will also result in an extra ball.

- NOTE 1: This rule shall apply even when the striker plays at and misses the ball, even if by moving from his guard he has brought the ball within reach. Only if the ball hits the striker a wide shall not be signalled.

- NOTE 2: The ball does not become dead on the call of “wide ball” and the striker may be out “Stumped” or “Hit Wicket”. In addition, either batsman may be “”, “Handled the Ball”, or “Obstructed the Field”.

- NOTE 3: Any byes which may occur from the “wide ball” will count in addition to the four (4) penalty runs.

- No Balls: § If in the opinion of either umpire, as passes or would have passed, over the shoulders of the batsman standing upright at the crease, Any Full toss over the waist height, the umpire at the bowlers end shall immediately call and signal “no ball”. A penalty of four (4) runs shall be added to the batting side’s score; however an extra ball shall not be included in the over, apart from in the final over of the innings where a No-ball will result in an extra ball. Further, any runs scored off the “no ball” shall be added to the batting side’s score in addition to the four (4) penalty runs.

§ A penalty of four (4) runs shall be added to the batting side’s score for any other “no ball” (e.g. wrong placement of bowler’s feet or wrong field placement). An extra ball shall not be included in the over, apart from in the final over of the innings where a no-ball will result in an extra ball. Further, any runs scored off the “no ball” shall be added to the batting side’s score in addition to the four (4) penalty runs.

- NOTE 4: The final over must be legally completed; wides and no balls will be re-bowled.

Scoring

Runs may be scored as follows:

- When both batters cross between the batting crease and the non-striker's crease, and make good their ground, 1 run is scored. This run is referred to as a "physical run”. Physical runs can be attempted at any time the ball is live. - ii. Bonus wall runs are scored when a batter hits the ball with the bat or the hand/s holding the bat into perimeter. This includes balls unintentionally deflected off the bat or batter’s hand/s holding the bat onto protective equipment, deflected by fielders and unintentionally deflected from the non-striker's body or equipment. The following bonus wall runs will apply: - ZONE A (Back wall or keeper wall) 2 Runs Direct hit or with bounce - ZONE B (Both Side Walls) 1 RUNS - ZONE C (Front Wall or Straight wall) direct hit “SIX 6” runs and with bounce “Four 4” Runs

- The top wall is neutral. A ball hit via the top wall onto any Zone wall will be counted on the full scores for example 1 or 4 Bonus runs for the batting side. - iii. When a fielder overthrows, (additional) physical runs will be scored as well as Bonus wall runs. When the batters cross between the batting crease and the non-striker's crease and make good their ground. An "overthrow" results from the deliberate effort of a fielder throwing, flicking, slapping or kicking the ball in an attempt to strike the wicket and cause a run out.

The Result

- The Team scoring the greater number of runs shall be the winner. In the event of a tie the winner will be:-

§ The side losing the fewer number of wickets; or § If both sides have lost the same number of wickets, the team with the higher scoring rate per ball faced; or § If the result cannot be decided by (a) or (b) above, the side with the higher scores - after four (4) over’s, - ii. or if still equal after three (3) over’s, - iii. or if still equal after two (2) over’s.

- If the competition is held in groups and two (2) or more teams have equal points, and are in a position to qualify for the next stage, then the team with the highest net in group shall qualify for the next stage.

- The top two (2) teams from each group shall qualify to the semi-final.
