RAINFALL/FLOOD SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY

♦ Conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Central & East during next 3•4 days. ♦ The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continue to pass through Lat.27.0°N/Long.87.0°E, Forbe sganj, Gaya, Rewa, Hoshangabad, Ahmadnagar, Satara, Vengurla, Lat.16.0°N/Long.70.0°E and Lat.16. 0°N/Long.60.0°E.

Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most places over , & Sikkim and Kerala; at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, and Assam & Meghalaya; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at isolated places over , Haryana & , , Vidarbha, Telengana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka and Odisha. Weather remained dry over rest of the country. The amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Gorakhpur•11; Bagdogra•8; •7; Bahraich & Coonoor•5 each; Pantnagar & Silchar-4 each; Sultanpur, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Pasighat & Kodaikanal•3 each; Lucknow, Varanasi, Barabanki, Purnea, Balurghat, Cherrapunji, Wardha, Kakinada, Nellore, Cannur, Palayankottai & Valparai•2 each.

According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) report dated 15.10.2014, there isno moderate flood situation sitein the country.

DEPLOYMENT OF NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE (NDRF) 49teams personnel consisting of total 1956personnel of NDRF have been deployed in Assam – (1), A&N– (1), Arunachal Pradesh-(1), A.P– (27), Delhi– (1), J&K – (2), Karnataka- (1), Mizoram- (1), Maharashtra – (3), Odisha-(4), – (1), Tripura –(1), Tamilnadu – (1), Uttarakhand- (1)& UP -

Weather remained dry over rest of the country. 15 October (Day 1): ♦ Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Sub• Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

16 October (Day 2): ♦ Nil 17 October (Day 3): ♦ Nil

Weather Outlook for subsequent 4 days

♦ Rain/thundershower would occur at many places over south Peninsular India. ♦ Rain/thundershower would occur at a few places over east and northeast India. ♦ A fresh feeble western disturbance would affect western Himalayan region from 19th onwards. ♦ Weather would be dry over rest of the country.

i. In (IWT Guwahati), Kamrup, Assam, 01 team consisting of 40 personnel of 1stBn NDRF has been deployed during Monsoon season.

ANDAMAN & NICOBAR (1)

i. In Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 01 team consisting of 46 personnel of 4thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response.

ARUNCHAL PRADESH (1) i. In (psChoukan, Lohit), Arunachal Pradesh 01 team consisting of 25 personnel of IstBn NDRF has been deployed in c/w drowing of 01 person in ParsanKund river.

ANDHRA PRADESH (27)

i) In ( Vizianagaram), Andhra Pradesh, 01 team consisting of 42 personnel of 2ndBn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. ii) In ( Visakhapatnam), Andhra Pradesh 01 team consisting of 42 personnel of 2ndBn NDRF left for Visakhapatnam at 121645 hrs & still enroute.

iii) In ( Srikakulam), Andhra Pradesh 02 teams consisting of 82 personnel of 2ndBn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. iv) In ( Visakhapatnam), Andhra Pradesh 07 teams consisting of 295 personnel of 4thBn NDRF has been deployed for in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD. .v) In ( Srikakulam), Andhra Pradesh, 01 team consisting of 45 personnel of 4thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. 3 vi) In ( Visakhapatnam), Andhra Pradesh, 03 teams consisting of 122 personnel of 8thBn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. vii) In (Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh 01 team consisting of 44 personnel of 10 Bn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. viii) In ( Visakhapatnam), Andhra Pradesh, 08 teams consisting of 322 personnel of 10thBn NDRF have been deployed for emergency response in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. ix) In ( Srikakulam), Andhra Pradesh, 02 team consisting of 80personnel of 10thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. xi) In ( Vizianagaram), Andhra Pradesh, 01 team consisting of 45 personnel of 10thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’

i. In (Dwarka) Delhi, 01 team consisting of 32 personnel of 8thBn NDRF has been deployed on permanent basis.

JAMMU & KASHMIR (2)

i) In Kashmir Valley/Srinagar (J&K), 02 teams consisting of 74 personnel of 7thBn NDRF have been deployed at Srinagar in flood affected areas of J&K.

KARNATAKA (1) i. In (Bangalore) Karnataka, 01 team consisting of 53 personnel of 5thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. MIZORAM (1) i. In (Aizawl) Mizoram, 01 team consisting of 41 personnel of 1stBn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. MAHARASHTRA (3) i. In () Maharashtra, 03 teams consisting of 89 personnel of 5thBn NDRF have been in c/w any emergency. ODISHA(04)

i. In (Balasore) Odisha, 01 team consisting of 35 personnel of 3rdBn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. ii. In (Puri) Odisha, 01 team consisting of 42 personnel of 3rd Bn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. iii. In (Koraput) Odisha, 01 team consisting of 45personnel of 3rd Bn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. iv. In (Malkangiri) Odisha, 01 team consisting of 45 personnel of 3rd Bn NDRF has been deployed in c/w Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’. RAJASTHAN (1) i. In (Nareli, Distt. Ajmer), Rajasthan 01 teams consisting of 49 personnel of 6thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. TRIPURA (1)

i. In (Agartala) Tripura, 01 t.eam consisting of 42 personnel of 1stBn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. TAMILNADU (1)

i. In (Adiyar) Chennai, Tamilnadu, 01 team consisting of 44 personnel of 4thBn NDRF has been deployed on permanent basis since 21.07.2013 for emergency response.

UTTARAKHAND (1)

i. In (Haridwar), Uttarakhand 01 team consisting of 13 personnel of 8thBn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response since 15.11.2013.

4 UTTAR PRADESH (3)

i. In (Varanasi), UP, 02 teams consisting of 82 personnel of 9thBn NDRF has been deployed at Varanasi on permanent basis for emergency response.

ii. In (Gorakhpur) U.P, 01 team consisting of 40 personnel of 9th Bn NDRF has been deployed in c/w preposition deployment during Monsoon season.

LOGISTIC SUPPORT PROVIDED BY THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE. -- FLOOD SITUATION

Uttarakhand

All major rivers of the State are flowing below the danger level. Number of human lives lost since 15th June 2014 till date is 66.

Bihar 20 districts, 1728 villages and 26 Lakhs population have been affected in this flood. So far 112 lives have been lost and 207914 people have been evacuated. 109 relief camps have been opened and 58854 people have been accommodated. Necessary relief measures are being taken.

CYCLONE “HUDHUD”

One hourly special report is being issued separately by D. M Division, Ministry of Home Affiars.
