Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth* Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth is one of New York State’s leading non-profit child welfare agencies and has a distinguished history of working with children and families for more than 129 years. Blair Academy Blair Academy is a co-ed, 9–PG boarding school located in rural northwestern New Jersey, approximately one hour west of New York City. The school is 75-80% boarding, possesses fine facilities and faculty housing, and is committed to the continuing education of the faculty. Blue Engine Blue Engine partners with public high schools serving low-income communities to prepare dramatically greater numbers of students for postsecondary success. At its core, Blue Engine recruits, trains, and supports Blue Engine Teaching Assistants (BETAs)—talented recent college graduates who provide individualized instruction and reduce student-to-instructor ratios to help students build the academic skills and mindsets required to succeed in college-level coursework. BETAs work in school-based teams high school math and English classes, collaborating with school staff to help entire grade levels make dramatic gains in academic achievement. An intensive four-week training program in August prepares BETAs to review content, learn how to set ambitious goals, invest students in their own success, and conduct measurably effective small group instruction that is both flexible and responsive to student learning. During the school year, BETAs work with small groups of students and collaborate with teachers in the classroom and after school to customize instruction, increase academic rigor, and build empowering relationships with students at every academic level. Broad Institute The Broad Institute brings together a diverse group of individuals from across its partner institutions— undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, professional scientists, administrative professionals, and academic faculty. The culture and environment at the Broad is designed to encourage creativity and to engage all participants, regardless of role or seniority, in the mission of the Institute. Within this setting, researchers are empowered—both intellectually and technically—to confront even the most difficult biomedical challenges. The Institute’s organization is unique among biomedical research institutions. It encompasses three types of organizational units: core member laboratories, programs and platforms.
