While speaking to Julian of First Choice this week, he told me that it is likely he will be closing the minimarket in the near future. There is not sufficient demand to keep the shop open. When you remember what this little shop has to offer - open every day with fresh bread and other staples, newspapers, postcards, stamps, a post box and much, much more - it will be a shame to lose it. It has been an asset to the community but as the old adage goes, ‘Use ‘em or lose ‘em!’ Ann and Phil Ball are holding a charity bash at No. 246 in Dream Hills 2 on Thursday July 22nd between 3pm ‘till 6pm. There will be lots of cakes, scones, cream etc with tea, coffee or soft drinks. The cost is just €2.50 per person plus €1 for the raffle. All proceeds and donations will go to the AECC Contra Cancer.
