Since February 2005, we have featured countless speakers and thousands of participants. The presentations are topical, cutting-edge, and varied. Unique to this course, though, is the level of entertainment mixed into the education. This keeps the attendees engaged and coming back year after year. And things just keep getting better!

But don’t take our word for it (we’re a little biased), take it directly from the attendees:

“Excellent conference! I very much enjoyed the humor and entertainment intertwined with the remarkable presentations! Made for a highly memorable first conference, and I will DEFINITELY return!”

“Fantastic course highlighting recent research and a need for a multidisciplinary approach.”

“Most fun I’ve had at a conference…ever.”

“The topics presented are diverse and forward-thinking.”

“I look forward to this conference every year!”

“This was so much fun! I feel as if I will be returning to practice with such a wealth of new information!”

“Very fun, informative, and useful conference. Thank you!”

“Superb overall conference. I like the short presentations, and fun mixed in with content.”

“This was an awesome course — no more needs to be said.” EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Laryngology Course: • Discuss the manifestations and treatment for irritable larynx syndrome, including globus, muscle tension dysphonia, and muscle tension dysphagia • Describe the workup and treatment of spasmodic dysphonia and vocal tremor • Discuss the treatment of Zenker’s and Cricopharyngeal dysfunction with flexible laryngoscopic techniques • Discuss the differential diagnosis for the “red larynx” • Describe the private practice model for SLPs and enhancing collaboration with MDs • Describe the pathophysiology of the aging voice

Sinus Course: • Discuss management options in frontal sinus management of sinusitis. . • List common conditions masquerading as sinusitis, and how to differentiate them. • Explain the difference between endotype and phenotype, and how this information can be used in patient care of sinusitis. • Be familiar with diagnosis and repair options for cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea.

ACCREDITATION: UP TO 27.00 AMA PRA CATEGORY 1 CME CREDIT™ This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Medical Association of through the joint providership of Southern Alliance for Physician Specialties CME and Sin City Laryngology. The Southern Alliance for Physician Specialties CME is accredited by the Medical Association of Georgia to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Southern Alliance for Physician Specialties CME designates this live activity for a maximum of 27.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. NEEDS ASSESSMENT Laryngology Course: This course is designed for otolaryngologists and speech pathologists who wish to enhance their understanding of the advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options for individuals with complex swallowing and voice disorders. Participants will be presented with the biomechanics of normal and pathologic voice and swallowing function. Disease diagnostics will be discussed including endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and videostroboscopy. In addition, participants will gain knowledge of the state-of-the-art evaluation and/or treatment for a variety of voice and swallowing disorders, including vocal tremor, Zenker’s diverticulum, globus, intubation trauma, gender dysphoria, and aging voice. Sinus Course: Anatomy of the frontal sinus is both complex and variable. The management of the frontal sinus also continues to evolve. Both of these topics will be covered at length. Novel non-surgical therapies are often being introduced in the management of sinusitis and these will be discussed. Many conditions often masquerade as sinusitis and determining the true etiology of the patient's symptoms is important to guide appropriate treatment.
