Export and Regional Wine Support Package Enduring benefits The $50m Export and Regional Wine Support Package The Export and Regional Wine Support Package (the $50m Package) was a one-off $50 million investment by the Australian Government designed to facilitate the growth of the Australian grape and wine sector by increasing demand for Australian wine exports and international wine tourism. Wine Australia developed and implemented the following programs to target growth in export and tourism sales in the Australian wine sector through various channels. Programs included: • Program 1 – Accelerating growth in international demand in China and the USA • Program 2a – Capability development programs; and • Program 2b and 3 – Grants. The $50m Package was originally to be delivered from July 2017 to June 2020. However, it was extended to June 2021 with the postponement and cancellation of planned in-market activities due to international travel restrictions imposed in 2020. Programs, tools and resources were developed during the delivery of the $50m Package to benefit the Australian wine sector for many years to come.
