Story Poles Our Wirdajuri story poles project will commence today, Tuesday the 20th of April, starting at 1pm and continue for the two weeks following. Parents and community are welcome to attend one or all of the workshops. Julie will be teaching some Wiradjuri language, storytelling and the students will be painting three poles to be placed in our playground, our pre-school students will be joining us for the project. Bird Talk rd The new date for our bird talk with Warren Chad and Melanie Cooper is on Friday 23 April beginning at 9.30am. Parents and community members are welcome to attend. Please don’t attend if you are feeling unwell. 3-6 Camp 2021 Students from Year 3 to Year 6 are invited to Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Camp Term 3 Week 1 (Sunday, July 18th to Friday, July 23rd). We will be taking a bus from Caragabal followed by a boat to access the camp that is at the opening of the Hawkesbury River near Brooklyn. The school will be supplementing the cost, parents will need to pay $50 per student. A permission note will go out next week to assess the number of students attending. School will be as normal if they do not attend the camp. Contact the school for any inquiries. State Swimming Carnival Congratulations to Eve, Annabelle, Charlotte and Lizzie, the girls competed at the State Swimming carnival in Sydney on Thursday 1st April. They won silver in the Earl Magee Relay. Thanks to Mandy and parents for their continued support. STOCKINBINGAL TO PARKES: PROJECT UPDATE AND COMMUNITY DROP-IN SESSIONS Good afternoon We are writing to update you on Inland Rail’s Stockinbingal to Parkes (S2P) project. Thank you for the feedback provided in December 2020 and March 2021 during our last engagement round for the Stockinbingal to Parkes Project. Since then, we have undertaken the following; • Conducted a Multi Criteria Analysis on the proposed design solutions for Horizontal Clearances, including Forbes Station and Lachlan River Bridge, incorporating community, environmental, heritage and cultural feedback on these sites into the decision making process. • Presented to the local community the latest designs for the new crossing loop at Daroobalgie, the Level Crossing at Daroobalgie Road and the track lowering at Wyndham Avenue Bridge and commenced discussions around construction which is scheduled to commence in 2022. • Identified community concerns around train numbers and wait times at Level Crossings and committed to providing further information to address these concerns in our upcoming engagement. • We are now progressing the designs for Lachlan River Bridge and Forbes Station and the horizontal clearance sites between Forbes and Stockinbingal.
