In consultation with Staff Associations of UN agencies in Myanmar, I am pleased to announce the following official holidays for year 2021 to be observed by United Nations in Myanmar.

* Since the observance of the two Eid days depends on the sighting of the moon, the exact dates will be announced/notified by the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Consultation with the local Islamic Communities.

Eid holidays are observed in accordance with the General Assembly Resolution 52/214A dated 22 December 1997 and UN Information Circular ST/IC/1998/30 of March 1998.

WHO has eight fixed official holidays to be observed each year and two days are taken at the discretion of individual staff member. As far as possible, WHO holidays should fall on days which are observed as official Government holidays in the Country.
