“Armenian Green Technologies Center” Foundation “Armenian Green Technologies Center” Foundation “Armenian Green Technologies Center” Foundation Funded by the European Union Partners Funded by the European Union Information leaet on “Armenian Green Technologies Center” Foundation and its services The Armenian Green Technologies Center was established in Gyumri, in March 2016. It is a new foundation in the sphere of Renewable Energy and Energy Efciency, concentrating the long-standing experience of its founding partners in implementing “green” projects throughout Armenia, particularly in the Marz of Shirak. OUR VISION The “Armenian Green Technologies Centre” Foundation intends to serve as a know-how platform and service point for all those persons, organizations, businesses and public institutions in Shirak Marz and beyond interested in “Green Energy”. Thereby, it strives to become one of the leading organizations in the Republic of Armenia in the sphere of renewable energy and energy efciency, which has a signicant contribution in green technologies, renewable energy, energy efciency and environmental approaches/ideas and dissemination of information, research, education and training of professionals, introduction and dissemination of green technologies. OUR CORE VALUES The “Armenian Green Technologies Centre” Foundation is guided by the principles of public usefulness, social responsibility, mutually benecial partnership and fair competition. OUR GOALS • Development of the renewable energy and energy saving sectors in Armenia. • Raising public awareness on green technologies widespread and engagement of the community representatives in production, installation and use of these technologies. • Expansion of the number of professionals in the eld of green technologies and provision of permanent information on recent innovations and new technologies in these sectors. • Increase the number of business entities operating in these elds, and contribution to the establishment of a competitive environment. • Contribution to the resolution of social and economic issues in Armenia. OUR MAIN STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS 1. Design and manufacturing, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of technologies, equipment and systems in the elds of renewable energy sources (RES) and energy efciency (EE). 2. Energy efcient reconstruction of buildings by application of EE technologies, increase of EE in buildings. 3. Introduction, adaptation, elaboration and application of new technologies in the sector of agriculture and environmental protection. 4. Scientic research in the eld of green technologies, provision of training and consultation, organization of discussions, conferences and seminars. 5. Cooperation with international donor organizations, state and local government bodies, directed to the elaboration and implementation of joint projects on development of green technologies in Armenia. The Center was established within the frame of the project “Green Energy for Green Socio-Economic Progress” - Minimizing social and economic hardship of the rural population and rural communities in Shirak region of Armenia by promoting multi-purpose renewable energy systems and “green” income-generation sources”, funded by the European Union and Austrian Development Cooperation. AGTC SERVICES AGTC provides professional consultation and training, research as well as installation services of RES/ EE technologies for public, business and private needs: • Elaboration, installation and maintenance of solar hot water supply and heating systems, • Elaboration, installation and exploitation of RES/ EE combined efcient heating systems, • Design, installation and maintenance of photovoltaic stations, • Energy efcient reconstruction of buildings by application of EE/RES technologies, • Monitoring of the projects with application of RES /EE technologies, • Consultation on RES/EE elds, • Conducting research on the RES/EE elds, • Professional development and training projects in the RES/EE elds. In addition, AGTC offers products range such as: • Production of RES/EE consumer goods with the application of machine and instrument resources, • Production of solar dryers (for production of dried fruit,b erries, herbs, and vegetables), • Production of dried fruit with the application of solar energy technologies, • Elaboration, construction and exploitation of greenhouses with the application of RES technologies, • Mathematic modeling and production of micro-controllers for solar heating, solar photovoltaic energy supply, and “smart house” systems, • Elaboration and production of tailor-made models of RES/EE technology systems and equipment for specic purposes. The “Armenian Green Technologies Center” Foundation possesses a wide range of professional literature, equipment, systems, and samples and has a staff of trained professionals with various educational backgrounds for continuous introduction, promotion, advocacy and development of practical benets of RES/EE technologies. Interested persons are invited to visit Armenian Green Technologies Center and get a personal impression of the functionality and effectiveness of various “green” systems. - The premises of AGTC themselves serve as an example for an energy-efcient and smart ofce building based on photovoltaic, solar and other “smart” controlling devices. - Visitors can also test various operating models and schemes of RES/EE displayed at the Center (e.g. “cool storage – warm house”, “solar fruit dryer”, “solar milk pasteurizer”, “solar LED”). PRACTICAL EXAMPLES The AGTC has already designed, installed and/or implemented various “green” facilities in more than 20 communities of Shirak region, for instance: - Pemzashen - thermal insulation of common areas of a multi-apartment building. - Ashotsk – Combined solar and photovoltaic system for heating and hot water supply of kindergarten. - Byurakn – Combined solar and photovoltaic system for fruit drying, heating and hot water supply for community / cooperative center. - Basen – Biogas system complementing other green facilities (such as greenhouse heating systems and solar water heaters for community kindergarten). - Gusanagyugh – Photovoltaic system for operating water pump and irrigation network. - Torosgyugh – Solar pump / Solar air heater and dryer for abstracting water from well for irrigation and drying fruits. - Qeti / Poqrashen / Alvar / Saragyugh - Community street lighting with energy-efcient lamps. All the professionals of the center will kindly assist you and provide explanations regarding RES/EE technologies. They will present and explain their application, advantages and distinctive features. AGTC engineers and economists will answer all your questions and assist you to conduct necessary calculations and make grounded decisions regarding the production of solar photovoltaic energy for private or business purposes, organization of solar water supply, thermal insulation of your house/ofce/production building, appropriate choice of lighting system, selection of solar fruit dryers, “smart houses” as well as regarding other RES/EE advanced technologies.     REPORT Project title: Warm Shoes to Schoolchildren from Vulnerable Families of Armenia project Reporting period: February 1-December 31, 2011 Donor (s): Organizations, private donors Implementer: Jinishian Memorial Foundation (JMF) AMD: 14,501,457 Budget (raised funds): USD: 38,162 Prepared by: Hasmik Sevumyan Submitted on: January 24, 2011 In 2011 the Jinishian Memorial Foundation has initiated a philanthropic activity to support school age children from remote northern villages of Armenia to be warmly booted during severe winter time. These are children who do not attend school during winter or attend in worn out shoes or even in shabby home slippers, which harshly influences on their health and sometimes later becomes a cause of chronic diseases. JMF has targeted Amasia, Ashotsk regions of Shirak marz and Vardenis, Chambarak regions of Gegharkunik marz, well-known with their cold and snowy winters, when during the long-lasting winter period people live isolated due to impassable roads and where people are mostly poor. To raise funds for supporting school age children from these regions a page was created on Facebook; informative/request letters were sent to potential donors, Jinishian partners, board members, etc. In 2011 the Jinishian Memorial Foundation raised 14,501,457 AMD/ 38,162 USD/.
