1 THE ALARM CONTROL CENTER

1.1 Barely Happened – Already Reacted!

With the Alarm Control Center (ACC), the Alarm IT Factory GmbH offers a software solution that forwards messages fast, directly and fully au- tomated to the relevant experts and participants. The Alarm Control Center reliably forwards messages from process control and process visualization systems to smartphones, mobile phones, pagers and many further mobile or stationary receivers. If a recipient does not react to a message, the message is sent to further recipients promptly by the sys- tem.

Figure 1: Message forwarding by the Alarm Control Center

The ACC Core System is the center of the alarm management and as- signs the incoming messages to the participants via a multistage esca- lation. Agents are the interface between the control system and the Alarm Control Center. An Agent takes up appearing messages and forwards them to the ACC Core System. The Agent returns the result of the alert- ing process as well as the feedback and acknowledgment of the partici- pants to the control system. Channels establish a connection between the ACC Core System and the devices or other channel specific endpoints and manage the necessary parameters for this connection. The Channel forwards the messages from the ACC Core System to various communication systems and processes the reactions of the subscribers.
