VoiceOver Gestures for iPad

1 Finger Gestures

Action Gesture

Speak and move cursor to item under your Touch or drag around the screen finger

Selects the previous or next item Swipe left or right

Move by Rotor (defined by Rotor choice) Swipe up (move back) or down (move ahead)

Activate the selected item. Tap 2 times fast

Move App icons Tap twice and hold until you hear beeps. Cancel with the home button.

Double press a button Tap 3 times fast

Move to top of screen or document Select the time at the top of the screen and double-tap

Place cursor at start or end of page After entering the text field, double-tap and the cursor will be moved to the start of the page. Double-tap again and the cursor will be moved to the end of the page.

2 Finger Gestures

Action Gesture

Go back, cancel, close pop-up Scrub back and forth

Item Chooser for current screen Triple tap with 2 fingers

Adjust rotor Place 2 fingers on the screen and rotate them to spin the rotor wheel

Read all from current position Swipe down

Read all from first object on screen Swipe up

Pause / continue speech 2-finger tap

Select text Place 2 fingers on the screen and pinch in (select ahead of the cursor) or move fingers apart (select behind the cursor)

Special Action (changes depending on 2-finger double-tap activity)

Add Label to selected item 2-finger double-tap and hold

While the on-screen keyboard is up and selected, a 2-finger scrub will split and/or merge the keyboard.

Special Action: While in a text field, a 2-finger double tap will start and stop dictation. Two finger double tap Play or pause music in iTunes or YouTu 3 Finger Gestures Action Gesture

Move/scroll down or up (like moving a paper) Swipe up or down

Announces current position 3-finger tap once

Turn Speech on / off (VoiceOver remains on) 3 finger double-tap

Screen Curtain on / off (VoiceOver remains on) 3 finger triple-tap

Control Center Touch the time at the top of the screen, then swipe up with 3 fingers.

Notification Center Touch the time at the top of the screen, then swipe down with 3 fingers.

Copy last spoken text to clipboard 3 finger quadruple-tap

4 Finger Gestures

Select the first item in the area Tap the upper half with 4 fingers

Select the last item in the area Tap the lower half with 4 fingers

When in an app, switch to next or previous app Swipe left or right
