MISSIONS IN 2019 United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination As of 31 Dec 2019
In 2019, the Emergency Response Section (ERS) of NUMBER OF MEMBERS DEPLOYED OCHA’s Response Support Branch (RSB) responded to nine calls for support from crisis affected countries IN 2019 SINCE 1993 and joined four preparedness missions as part of the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) initiative.
With a total of 13 field missions, 57 emergency specialists were deployed along with 32 staff from 57 1,693 members deployments operational partners to 10 countries. Either through joint deployments or close collaboration in the field or via remote support, UNDAC received support from the Americas Support Team, ACAPS, DHL Response Teams, EUCPT, the International Humanitarian Partnership, IMPACT/REACH initiative, MapAction, 32 112 Télécoms Sans Frontières and UNOSAT. support staff countries
The response to the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami in 2004/2005 and other missions saw the longest deloyment period ever, peaking at 3,266 days in 2005.
