SVEDISH AIR CHIEF IVEETS DUT DEFENCE 1NISTER

New Delhi ICar'tika21, 1880 November 129 1958 Lt. Gen. Axel Ljungdahl, Commander_in_Chief of the Royal , called on the Deputy Defence Minister, Sardar Surjit Singh Majithia, at the Defence Ministry here. today. The Swedish Air Chief was with the Minister for nearly thirty minutes.

Later, the Swedish Air Chief called on the Chief of the Armv Staff, K.S. Thimayya, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice_Admiral R.D. Katarj and the Defence Secretary, 3brI 0. Pulls. Roddy.

General Ljungdahl, who was accompanied by tho L'F Liaison Officer, Gp. Capt. Son Gupta, later visited Air HQ whore he met the Chief of the , Air Marshal S. Mukorjeo and his Principal Staff Officers, Air Vice—Marshal D.A.R. Nanda, DCJLS, Air Commodore E.W. Pinto, Air Officer—in—chargo, Administration, and Air Commodore M.S. Chaturvedi, Air Officer_in—charge, Maintenance. On behalf of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Mukerjee presented a silver plate to the distiniished visitor.

Gener1 and Mrs. Ljungdahl,who returned hero yesterday from a short tour of southern India, are leaving India tomorrow, , Tthrsiay, November 13. Since their arrival on November 4, they have visited the Air Force Stations at Agra, Jodhpur and Ambala. They were also able to have glimpses of the cultural heritage of India during their visit to Ajanta and Ellora and of modern India when thoy-visited lihakra Nangai and Chandigarh. A reception is being held, in honour of General and Mrs. Ljungdahl at the Air Force Officers' Mess hero this evening.
