  • Runners-Up 5-8 Years Age Group the Stars Shine
Runners-Up 5-8 years age group Name: Clara T Age: 5 Description: This story was inspired by a large sequin star that Clara brought home from pre-school. She held it in her hand as she spoke the story. “The stars are kind. They help to look after people and make them happy. That is what makes the stars heroes”. Judges notes: “Beautiful imagination and empathy. Fiction teaches us to care about others – such empathy at so young an age!” The Stars Shine There are stars that help us to climb on them and the rainbow helps to make a ladder to them and then the people can get them when they are really sad. The stars will help them and they fill their buckets. They read a book to them and then give them and then give them cuddles when they have finished. It makes the sad person happy. About the rainbow – it will tell us somewhere quiet in the land and we fly out and no-one can see us if we want. We sit on the clouds and the rainbow will tell us if there are people that are sad. The stars move and she when they see someone crying and then they move down to help the person. Each person has a star. Name: Jai H Age: 7 Description: The super heroes are looking for a new member of their team – Super Duck is born! Judges notes: “Great imagination and narrative with humour”. “Good imagination” “It’s about time we had an ‘underduck’ superhero!” Super Duck In a calm little pond right next to a park a large family of ducks were happily swimming in a pond.

Each episode ended with the protagonist giving an educational fact pertaining to the events in the episode. The main character's pet iguana Thor was once devolved into a dinosaur by Dr. Zygote. The titular character, accompanied by bodyguards Norman and Virgil, travels through portals in time and space using his red cap. This show is, for ten points, what cartoon based on the Polly Pocket toy line? ANSWER: Mighty Max 2) In this character's original appearance he was killed by an evil snowman. This character has taken on many roles, including a tooth fairy, a sumo wrestler, a pimp, a member of Osama Bin Laden's harem, a Vietnamese prostitute named Ming Li, and General Robert E. Lee. This character is given to frequent bouts of racism, such as his insistence that Jews can't be pirates, gingers have no souls, and all black people know how to play the bass guitar. He once made chili out of Scott Tenorman's parents. He frequently sings that his friend's mom is a big fat bitch, and demands that people respect his "authoritah." This is, for ten points, what fat character on South Park? ANSWER: Eric Cartman (Accept either) 3) This comic has spawned a number of TV specials, featuring the titular character in the Rough, on the Town, in Paradise, and going to Hollywood.

They are available on the regular web-site www.terryscomics.com. If you are looking for non-key comics from the 1980's to present, please send us your want list as we have most every issue from the past 35 years in our warehouse. Over the past three years we have finally been able to process all the very large DC collection known as the Jerome Wenker Collection. He started collecting comic books in 1983 and has assembled one of the most complete collections of DC comics that were known to exist. He had regular ("newsstand" up until the 1990's) issues, direct afterwards, the collection was only 22 short of being complete (with only 84 incomplete.) This collection is a piece of Comic book history.
