UPDATE - Microsoft Launching New Commerce Experience

The Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program continues to evolve as it adapts to support the constantly shifting needs of today’s businesses. As part of the Microsoft investment in the CSP program, it has been working to reduce licensing complexity and costs, as well as provide flexibility to support a range of client purchasing scenarios.

To achieve these goals, Microsoft launched the New Commerce Experience (NCE) for Microsoft Azure in 2019 – and in fall of 2021 will be expanding NCE to include Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform.

UPDATE - Minimum version requirements for Outlook for Windows

Starting on November 1, 2021, the following versions are the minimum versions of Outlook for Windows needed to connect to Microsoft 365 services, such as Exchange Online.

• Version 1706 of Microsoft 365 Apps • Version 16.0.4600.1000 of Office 2016 (with the November 2017 Update, KB 4051890) • Version 15.0.4971.1000 of Office 2013 (Service Pack 1 with the October 2017 Update, KB 4043461) • All versions of Outlook 2019 should be able to connect to Microsoft 365 services, but only the most current version is supported.

Microsoft will make minor adjustments to the MSRP of nine SKUs in September, with six of the products experiencing pricing decreases. June 2021 Price and Package Changes

UPDATE (June 29, 2021) - New Subscriptions Ending for Microsoft Azure

Pax8 will no longer accept net-new subscriptions of the original Microsoft Azure - Program SKU as of Wednesday, July 21. All new subscriptions will be made through the Azure Plan SKU.

Partners and customers currently on Azure - Program can continue to transact. In 2022, Microsoft will begin migrating accounts to Azure Plan. A notice will be provided six months before the migration starts.

UPDATE (June 29, 2021) - Microsoft Promo Dates Extended

Microsoft is extending two Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) promotions to drive the adoption of Teams as a meeting solution for partners. The promotions will reduce friction associated with adding Voice and Audio Conferencing to a Microsoft 365 license. This upgrade will give customers the full value of Microsoft 365 and Teams as a meeting and calling solution.

Microsoft 365 Business Voice with Calling Plan will be subject to a 25 percent discount for 12 months and Microsoft 365 Business Voice without Calling Plan will be subject to a 33 percent discount for 12 months.

Within this new commerce experience for Azure, Microsoft has aligned to a single global pricing principle enabling CSP partners to offer Azure at the published prices. Microsoft Security Alert

Microsoft announced on March 2 that it identified new nation-state cyberattacks using previously unknown exploits that target the company’s on-premises Exchange Server software. As a result, to minimize or avoid impacts of this situation, Microsoft highly recommends that you take immediate action to apply the patches for any on-premises Exchange deployments you have or are managing for a customer or advise your customer of the steps they need to take. The vulnerabilities exist in on- premises Exchange Servers 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019. Exchange Online is not affected.

Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) Promo Launched for Partners

Starting Jan. 5, 2021 through March 31, 2021, Microsoft is offering a 30 percent discount on all D- series and Bs-series Windows virtual machines (VMs) when the VMs are used as part of a Windows Virtual Desktop host pool. This offer is limited to one per organization (billing scope) and may only be redeemed by new customers that begin using Windows Virtual Desktop for the first time during the WVD Promo Offer Period and activate the promotion. Advanced Communications Promo Price Reduced

Pricing for the Advanced Communication Promo SKU has been reduced by Microsoft, from an MSRP of $7.80 to $5.00. Advanced Communications Promo is a new Microsoft Teams add-on SKU, added in Nov. 2020, that enables customers to further enhance their communication experience on top of any Microsoft 365 or Office 365 suite they are subscribed to. It requires the purchase of Microsoft Teams and any Microsoft 365/Office 365 suite. Please note that while earlier Microsoft documentation put an end date of Jan. 31, 2021 on the Promo, it still appears in the February Preview Price List.

Power Apps and Power Automate Plans Being EOL’d Microsoft Power Apps Plans 1 and 2 and Microsoft Power Automate Plans 1 and 2 will no longer be available for purchase, including via auto-renewal, after December 31, 2020. Customers with these Plan licenses who have renewals falling on or after January 1, 2021 will need to transition to the Power Apps per user or per app plans, or the Power Automate per user or per flow plans to continue using the Power Platform services.

August 2020 Pricing and Package Changes

Pax8 is increasing the partner cost for Microsoft Audio Conferencing Nonprofit Staff Pricing to $1.60 per user per month, effective Aug. 1, to align with the Microsoft CSP price list. This increase will remove the partner margin from the SKU, which is customary with Microsoft products like Audio Conferencing and Domestic Calling. The increase will apply to existing and new subscriptions of the SKU.

Rebates will end as of May 31, 2020 for all subscriptions of promotional SKUs that were purchased as part of the Microsoft Shift campaign, which was launched in Dec. 2018. Prices will not change for the SKUs, but rebates will no longer be issued to partners. The affected SKUs and their current product names in the Pax8 catalog are:

• Microsoft 365 Business Premium - Rebate Promo (formerly Microsoft 365 Business - Rebate Promo) • Microsoft 365 Business Standard - Rebate Promo (formerly Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium - Rebate Promo)

Partners that have subscriptions of both promotional and standard SKUs can true up the quantity of a given product for PSA tool syncing purposes by first cancelling the promotional SKU subscription on May 29 and selecting the End of Term option, and then adding the same seat quantity to the standard SKU, with an effective date of June 1. Pax8 will provision the license to ensure there is no downtime and users are correctly assigned to the product.

April 2020 Package Name Changes In early April, Pax8 will begin changing the names of the following five packages, ahead of Microsoft’s official change on April 21.

New F-series Product to be Added in April Microsoft will add another Microsoft F-series product in April, although the April price sheet posted in the Microsoft Partner Center has conflicting information. On the price sheet, both Microsoft 365 and a newly-created Microsoft 365 F3 SKU are presented with the same part number. It is our understanding the current F1 product is being renamed F3, and a new F1 product introduced, however as of April 3 this has not been confirmed with Microsoft. We will update this document, at the same URL, when new information is available.

Microsoft 365 Business Voice April Availability

As with the new F series product, there are questions about the part number listed on the Microsoft April price sheet, so Pax8 has not yet opened the product up in the Pax8 Portal catalog. Office 365 E1 Trial Available Pax8 Partners can take advantage of the new Office 365 E1 Trial, which is available for six months from the order date for up to 3,000 seats. It can be converted to a paid subscription at any time before the end of the six-month period. Office 365 Enterprise E1 was designed for organizations with 300 or more users and includes: • Business-class email hosting with a 50 GB mailbox • Office Online versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • HD video conferencing • Team sites with 1 TB of baseline storage plus 500 MB of storage per user
