USP III Scholar (ID#: ****05087)

She graduated from Baskinta Public School as an exceptional student who made it to the honor’s list, upon graduation, and was honored several times throughout her education years.

However, the academic journey wasn’t a smooth path. Like any adolescent, she was subjected to bullying from her classmates as rumors of favoritism rose among her peers due to her mother being her teacher throughout her middle school years. However, she showing signs of maturity at that young age, she did not let those rumors affect her performance in any way, but rather transformed those negative opinion in a source of motivation as she remained concentrated and focused on her education, civic engagement, and overall success.

During her high school years, she traveled to the United States as part of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Program. She was one of the lucky few selected to spend a year with an American family, experience the American educational system, and be one of the youngest Lebanese Ambassadors abroad. This once in a life time experience helped shape her personality as today she is a YES Alumni Board Representatives and Regional Coordinator for Metn and Keserwen. Add to that, she was also an ACCESS student during her high school where she exceled in different activities especially the Citizen Project.

The scholar today is a USP VII Cycle 3 scholar at the Lebanese American University, majoring in Banking and Finance with a CGPA of 3.67.

In addition to her distinction academic standing, she still dedicates her free time towards civic engagement and being an instrument of change within her community. Along with being an active member of the Rotaract Club and the Astronomy Club at the Lebanese American University, she is also a trainer in the Model United Nations simulation program as she describe

126 her experience by saying: “My pride and joy is not summarized by the lessons of diplomacy and dedication I gave taught those young delegates, but rather by what they taught me about being driven by passion.

She goes on with her days hoping that through her education and will towards positive change, that she will one day be able to make a positive contribution towards her community as she reminds herself of this quote every day: “Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be.” - Zig Ziglar.
