To Assignment Editor: Book Fair Opens Next Week with Record Exhibitor Total Highlights Include Over 400 Cultural Events, Largest English Avenue 12 July 2013 – About 560 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions, a new exhibitor record, will take part in the 24th HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair, 17-23 July, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The annual fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will feature more than 400 cultural events under the theme “Reading the World – Reading for a Better World.” Seven seminar series will also take place, including new spotlights on Hong Kong history, as well as travel and culture. Erica Jong, Jung Chang and William Shawcross are among the notable writers participating in the fair. Other highlights include the fair’s largest English Avenue. Publishers taking part will include the Commercial Press, Hachette Book Group, Learners Publishing, Metrobooks, Simon & Schuster, Swindon, the Penguin Group, Random House and HarperCollins. The e-Books and e-Learning Resources Zone will feature a wide array of e-reading devices and interactive books. SuperBookCity, a new online book-purchasing platform, will be launched at the Book Fair.
