Educational Technology Conferences Educational Technology and a Few Education Conferences for June to December 2021, Edition #45 Prepared by Clayton R. Wright, crwr77 at gmail.com, May 15, 2021 The 45th edition of the conference list covers selected professional development opportunities that primarily focus on the use of technology in educational settings and on teaching, learning, and educational administration. Only listings until December 2021 are most complete as dates, locations, or Internet addresses (URLs) were not available for a number of events held after that date. A significant challenge during the assembly of this list is incomplete or conflicting information on websites and the lack of a link between conference websites from one year to the next. An explanation for the content and format of the list can be found at http://newsletter.alt.ac.uk/2011/08/why- distribute-documents-in-ms-word-or-openoffice-for-an-international-audience/. A Word or an OpenOffice format is used to enable people with limited or high-cost Internet access to find a conference that is congruent with their interests or obtain conference abstracts or proceedings. Consider using the “Find” tool under Microsoft Word’s “Edit” tab or similar tab in OpenOffice to locate the name of a particular conference, association, city, or country. If you enter the country “Australia” or place, such as “Hong Kong” in the “Find” tool, all conferences that occur in Australia or Hong Kong will be highlighted. Or, enter the word “research” or “assessment”. (Note that key words such as “research”, “assessment” or “MOOCs” may not be present in the conference title, yet these topics could be discussed during a particular conference.) Then, “cut and paste” a list of suitable events for your colleagues. Please note that events, dates, titles, and locations may change and some events may be cancelled. Thus, CHECK the specific conference website not only for basic information, but to assure yourself that the conference is legitimate. Some conferences are not quality-focused. Check your “gut” – if it doesn’t feel quite right, perhaps more checking is in order. Take the time to conduct your own due diligence for any events you want to attend or submit a paper to. All Web addresses were verified at the time of publication. No liability is assumed for any errors that may have been introduced inadvertently during the assembly of this FREE conference list. Kindly retain the contact information when you re-distribute the list or mount it on the web as that is how I receive updates. crw ****************** May 17, 2021 Teacher Librarian Conference: Turning the Page. A General Account of Coinduction Up-To ∗ Filippo Bonchi Daniela Petrişan Damien Pous Jurriaan Rot May 2016 Abstract Bisimulation up-to enhances the coinductive proof method for bisimilarity, providing efficient proof techniques for checking properties of different kinds of systems. We prove the soundness of such techniques in a fibrational setting, building on the seminal work of Hermida and Jacobs. This allows us to systematically obtain up-to techniques not only for bisimilarity but for a large class of coinductive predicates modeled as coalgebras. The fact that bisimulations up to context can be safely used in any language specified by GSOS rules can also be seen as an instance of our framework, using the well-known observation by Turi and Plotkin that such languages form bialgebras.

Box 905, 2300 AX Leiden, The Netherlands 2 Knowledge E, Office 4401, X2 Tower, JLT, 488239 Dubai, United Arab Emirates Corresponding author: Philip J. Purnell Centre for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University, P.O. Box 905, 2300 AX Leiden, The Netherlands Tel: +971 50 552 9356 [email protected] ORCID: 0000-0003-3146-2737 Abstract Indonesia has exhibited a unique pattern of conference proceedings publishing that was distinct from global and regional norms. Conference proceedings are now an integral part of the major citation databases, and this study examined their progressive coverage in the context of academic career advancement and Indonesian government policy. The results of analyses in Web of Science (WoS), Scopus and to a lesser extent, Dimensions showed an increase in the proportion of conference proceedings far in excess of global norms and not seen in any other South East Asian country. In the conference series containing most Indonesian proceedings papers, there was a recent increase in representation from Indonesia and an increase in the proportion of those conferences hosted in Indonesia. Local policy documents and guidelines from 2012 and 2014 appeared to encourage academics to increase research outputs in high impact internationally indexed sources but did not make any distinction between document types. The conclusion suggests that scholars might have found advantage in advancing through the hierarchy of academia through publishing conference papers that were quicker and easier to publish than journal articles.
