Fairfax Community Centre, Fairfax Avenue, Harrogate Electorate Polling station staff Very satisfied 50 of 76 Satisfied 26 of 76 2 Neither satisfied nor dissatisfied Dissatisfied No opinion

Reason for dissatisfaction Christ Church Parish Centre, Church Square, Harrogate

-Publicity of location poor. Need better signage in wider area - main road. -Find the Pollsters on the front door to be irritating in what is meant to be an anonymous vote - they present as if you must tell them how you voted. -Why are attendants on the door - so anxious for the polling card when it says 'not necessary' on card. -There are always two women by the door who ask questions. If they are party reps they should not be here and if they are 'other' they should not interfere with those coming to vote. -I think there should be the names of all the roads and the polling booth numbers at the doorway, so that people can see immediately which door they should go to instead of having to look at each booth.

Suggestion of a more appropriate building from which to vote Christ Church Parish Centre, Church Square, Harrogate -Fairfax -Woodlands School or Church

35 Reason for dissatisfaction Summerbridge Methodist School Room, Summerbridge, Harrogate Polling Staff -Could there be some detail on letter to Presiding Officer about building i.e what can you stick signs on (this is stone building and difficult to stick anything to). This station might be better with laminated signs to tie on fence. Also possibly indicate in rural areas if wifi is available if station isn’t very busy can log into work.

Kettlesing Millennium Village Hall, Crag Lane, Felliscliffe, Harrogate Polling Staff -We don't have a lot of enough useable wall space for notices etc.

Birstwith Reading Room, Wreaks Road, Birstwith, Harrogate Polling Staff -Cold - particular in autumn of winter. WC unacceptable. No kitchen facilities 'Poller' parking seriously bad - adjacent to school -Poor toilet facilities.

Melmerby Village Hall, Melmerby, Ripon -Melmerby polling station covers Hutton Conyers which is the other side of Wath, so all but a few voters travel through Wath to get to Melmerby, would it be possible to join the two together as melmerby and Wathare 1 mile apart and Hutton Conyers is 3 miles from Melmerby, perhaps one polling station for all parishes?

Suggestion of a more appropriate building from which to vote Baldersby Mission Room, Baldersby Garth, Baldersby, Thirsk the Church Posiitves: 1. There is a lovely new kitchen - with running water, cooker, kettle and crockery. 2. There is a lovely new all-ability toilet.

54 3. There are two portable ramps - to allow access across 2 lots of steps. 4. The church door opens fully to allow wide access. 5. There is plenty of space inside the Church to position tables, booths, etc

Negatives: 1. The raised threshold would have to be negotiated as it could be a bit of a 'trip-hazard' 2 Ramps would have to be moved as necessary - as there are 3 sets of steps to negotiate
