Together with the WKF Karate1 World Cup (WWC) it is a series of world class Karate competitions recognized and supported by the World Karate Federation Its aim is to bring together the best Karate competitors in the world in a series of open championships of unprecedented scale and quality“ [Version N1] [04 Febuary 2016] Under the Patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai 1 WELCOME / INTRODUCTION The UAE Taekwondo and Karate Federation is taking strides towards developing the karate sport on the national level, in addition to acquiring achievements in the Gulf , the Arab region and internationally. We consider “Al-Ahli Dubai Open” which will be twinned with Dubai's 1st Karate premier league, one of the most gigantic sports events during this year. This mind blowing event reflects Dubai's ability in fulfilling the vision and mission of our leader - His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of United Arab Emirates as well as, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President , Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai. Moreover, the great organization of the event , which has clearly shined over the years , by reaching to phenomenal expectations and astonishing levels of professionalism in organizational, technical and referral standards. It is truly my pleasure to invite each and every country to participate in the 5th Al-Ahli Dubai Open and Karate 1 Premier League. Clubs / teams / federations are responsible for the quality of the entered registration data. Changes of online registration data are possible until 28th of March 2016. The official registration session will take place in The HQ Hotel – Al Bustan Hotel & Residence. From 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. If changes are required during the official registration session because of incorrect, missing or new registration data, a fee of € 20 is charged for each change. At registration, accreditation cards will be issued with the participants main data, a photograph and information about registered categories. The accreditation card must be worn at all times during the event. Only members of national federations recognized by WKF are admitted to participate. Please also note: - All teams have to register their participants at the official registration session - Only one responsible per team has to register the complete team - All participants have to show their passports at the registration session CATEGORIES Kata individual female and male (16 years and older) Kata Team female and male (16 years and older) Kumite individual female (18 years and older): -50 kg, -55kg, -61 kg, -68 kg, +68kg Kumite individual male (18 years and older): -60 kg, -67 kg, -75 kg, -84 kg, +84 kg ENTRY FEE The entry fees are € 45 per individual category entry and € 70 per team category entry. PAYMENT: CAN BE DONE DURING REGISTRATION SESSION ON 8TH APRIL 2016 AT THE HQ HOTEL – AL BUSTAN HOTEL & RESIDENCE 5 WKF ACCREDITED COACHES According to the new Coach License Manual 2016, the minimum level required to take part in the Karate 1 events is the “Accredited Coach” level. To obtain such certification, coaches must attend a compulsory the Coach Briefing. Therefore and in order to give the opportunity to the WKF Coaches to get this certification, some Coach Briefings will be held in the following Karate 1 events: • Karate 1-Premier League, Rotterdam, Netherlands • Karate 1-Premier League, Dubai, UAE • Karate 1-Premier League, Rabat, Morocco • Karate 1-Premier League, Fortaleza, Brazil WKF ACCREDITED COACH BRIEFING, ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS. Please find below the Coach Briefing schedule and the details for the registration process: Coach Briefing Schedule: Friday 8th of April 2016, from 16:00 p.m to 18:00 p.m in Al Bustan Hotel & Residence. Registration (only online): Those coaches who wish to attend to the “Accredited Coach Briefing” in Dubai (U.A.E) must be registered online and must fill out the “Accreditation Agreement for Coaches” that can be downloaded from the online registration site. All coach registrations must be made online latest until March 28th, 2016, through the following link: https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set- online/veranstaltung_info_main.php?active_menu=calendar&vernr=91#a_eventhead Should you have any difficulties when registering, please contact [email protected] for technical support. Fees and payment: We would like to remind you that the fee to attend to the “Coach Briefing” and to obtain a new license or to renew your expired license of WKF Accredited Coach is 300 CHF. All payments must be made by PayPal, by credit card, through Sportdata system: www.sportdata.org. No other methods of payment (bank transfer,…,) will be accepted. Registrations and payments in site will not be accepted. 6 COMPETITON RULES WKF Rules / Karate1 Rules For all categories the official WKF rules / Karate1 rules are applied. Only WKF Approved protective equipment is allowed to use. Athletes have to bring their equipment. 7 8 PRIZE MONEY For individual categories (Kumite and Kata): Gold Medalist: 500 € Silver Medalist: 300 € Bronze Medalist: 100 € For Kata team categories: Gold Medalist: 600 € Silver Medalist: 400 € Bronze Medalist: 200 € RANKING Competitors can earn ranking points in every Karate1 event according to the official WKF Ranking Criteria. Grand winners (Karate1 champions) have to participate in 6 Karate 1 events at least. Grand winners (Karate1 champions) at the end of the WKF Karate1 season receive extra price money.
