the company’s board members chaired by H.E. Nader Al Hammadi and his Vice Chairman Sheikh Ahmed Al Dhaheri, ADA pursued a strategy of diversification over the years. This diversification helped ADA Group withstand serious shockwaves from these unprecedented challenges. The company’s sound performance over the years and its equity investment in assets (aircraft and properties), supported the company’s ability to generate sufficient EBITDA to maintain a healthy cash position in difficult times.

During my eleven years in ADA, we have faced a number of challenges and we were able to overcome them without taking extreme measures. We have always made financial decisions based on the best interests of our shareholders and employees, and this has included targeted cost cutting measures that have contributed to our goal of sustaining long term corporate value. We understand that some staff found these dispersed measures difficult at the time; however, it has allowed us to mitigate more significant problems. In addition, it is crucial during these tough times that ORGANIZATION ADA board members, GM, DGM and executive directors and managers work together to formulate a balanced strategy to protect the staff as well as maintaining STRUCTURE the shareholders’ interests. My role as CFO is to enhance the corporate value, manage revenue efficiently, control cost, manage cash flow and ensure that the board approved budget is met. I act as a catalyst for the management team and provide them with relevant and timely financial and management information that enables us as a team to collectively make informed decisions that propel the company forward.

This collective approach enabled the company to respond swiftly to the inherent challenges caused by this pandemic.

Under the direct supervision of the General Manager and with the help of the procurement team, ADA took various safety measures to mitigate the risks of COVID-19, including: ASHRAF FAHMY 1. Fumigating and disinfecting the premises and fleet. CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER 2. Installing thermal imaging cameras. 3. Rolling out COVID-19 test kits. 4. Implementing staff segregation procedures. 5. Making the required PPE and sanitizers available to staff everywhere in the company. Abu Dhabi Aviation, like many other companies in the UAE and globally, faced serious challenges in the first ADA’s achievement would not have been possible quarter of 2020. COVID-19 and low oil prices had a without your input and dedication. Every single significant negative impact on the Abu Dhabi Aviation member of ADA staff has a crucial role and plays Group. Fortunately, due to the acumen and foresight of a significant part in the company’s success.

To enhance the precautionary efforts and preventive measures taken against the novel Corona Virus (Covid-19), we ensure the highest levels of protection for Abu Dhabi Aviation employees whose jobs require daily attendance at the workplace.

Kindly review the mandatory safety measures to avoid infection to ensure full functioning at work.

46 Issue No.3 Quarter 2, Mar - Jun 2020 www.ada.ae HR AWARENESS

WHEN USING YOUR OWN CAR TO GO TO WORK: • Ensure that the door handle and the car steering are sterilized periodically. • Carry an alcohol sterilizer all the time. • Wear protective gloves, sleeves, and closed shoes. • Use a credit card instead of cash and sterilize it after use.

WHEN USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO GO TO WORK: • Wear protective gloves, sleeves, and closed shoes. • Carry an alcohol sterilizer all the time. • Ensure that the means of transportation are not crowded. • Leave enough safety distance between you and the rest of the passengers.

TO ENSURE THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF SAFETY AND PREVENTION IN THE WORKPLACE: • Dispose of gloves and masks and throw them in the place designated for that. • Wash hands with soap and water every hour. • Maintain a distance of two meters between you and your co-workers. • Avoid closed meetings that require physical attendance and use technical means for this. • Not be in contact with co-workers during the lunch break and in smoking places, and remember that quitting smoking strengthens the immune system. • Perform prayer alone and on your own carpet.

After work hours are over, head home immediately, wash hands with soap and water, shower and change clothes.

Your commitment to applying these health safety standards would reduce the risk of infection and infecting your family and colleagues. It would also support the efforts of the competent authorities to completely get rid of this new epidemic.

Your health and well being is a priority.

In addition to a specialized center for caring for the aircrafts, we also rely on the strong pool of talented and highly skilled professionals who perform regular maintenance tasks on the aircrafts and all its parts.

The regular maintenance is undertaken by the Abu Dhabi Police technicians as well as our strategic partner, Abu Dhabi Aviation. The head of maintenance follows a non- centralized system for all maintenance steps.
