Abu Dhabi Air Expo Opens Tomorrow; Double In Size Compared to 2012

- Abu Dhabi Air Expo starts tomorrow and runs through 7th March 2013- -Over 12,000 visitors expected to visit Al Bateen Executive Airport-

4th March 2013 – Abu Dhabi, United Arab : Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013 will opens its doors tomorrow at Al Bateen Executive Airport, and will run until 7th March, showcasing the latest products and services in the general aviation industry on over 80,000 square meters of exhibition space.

Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013 will provide double the exhibition area compared to its first show in 2012, where more than 160 aerospace-related organizations, from across the UAE and from more than 70 countries, including: Canada, United States of America, Germany, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, , , and Jordan, will be participating, representing a twofold increase compared to the number of nationalities that participated last year.

More than 100 aircraft will be on display from industry leading aviation manufacturers, including: Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Boeing, Gulfstream, Cessna, Piper Aircraft, Cirrus Aircraft, and, Air Bus, at this year’s Expo. Both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft will be on the runway at Al Bateen for aerospace enthusiasts to explore. Abu Dhabi Air Expo is also likely the only exhibition in the world this year that will exhibit aircraft both less than 100 kg (LSA or GYRO) up to 150 tonnes (Airbus A310-300) at the same event.

Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2013 is organized and hosted by ADAC along with the support of many key Abu Dhabi organizations, including: ADNOC, UAE Armed Forces, the Department of Transport

in Abu Dhabi, Al Futtaim Group, Falcon Aviation Services, , , Mubadala, , , Jetex, Breitling, the Tourism and Culture Authority of Abu Dhabi and, the General Civil Aviation Authority.

Yousif Hassan Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Abu Dhabi Air Expo, General Manager of Al Bateen Executive Airport, said: “ADAC is excited about the potential of the second Abu Dhabi Air Expo. The air displays will include the famous Al Fursan Aerobatic team, the UAE parachute team and a thrilling performance by the acclaimed Guinness Record Captain Zoltan Veres.

ADAC is anticipating that several announcements will be made and contracts signed at this year’s Air Expo. In addition, Abu Dhabi Expo 2013 will be hosting several premiers for the region and the industry, including:

 Gulfstream will display its G650 aircraft for the first time in the Middle East and Africa (MENA) region  Bombardier will introduce the latest version of its Global 6000  Embraer Executive Jets will be exhibiting several aircraft, including the entry level range jet Phenom 300 to the long range Lineage 1000  Tecnam, an Italian manufacturer, will present its latest P2010, an aircraft that is particularly suitable for flight schools concerned with keeping operating costs low  Several flight schools, and training centers including: GCAS, Etihad Airways Academy, CAE Emirates College Academy, Australian College of Kuwait, International Center of

Excellence, Air Academy, Wallan Academy of Saudi, Aviation Academy and Chopperline Australia, will be present

Educating the youth about the general aviation industry has always been a priority for ADAC, and a day of the Expo has been dedicated to students. On 7th March, more than 800 high school students from across the UAE will visit the Expo to meet with the flight schools present and to learn more about the aeronautic and aviation industries.

Members of the public are invited to attend all three days of the Expo at a cost of 100 AED per ticket.
