The State has finalised guidelines for this years’ state selection and championship shoots. It was decided t Noms

Two day shoots are 100 targets Saturday and 50 on Sunday starting at 10am. These shoots are fully catered and you can’t ‘duck around the corner shop’ for supplies. The rest are bring your own, but ring in advance to check if it is still on. Other interesting things to do while in the area could include Sturt National Park with some restored building and modelled old time methods of water pumping and mining, with tourist roads through landscapes and points of interest. The whole area being an old goldfield leaves interesting areas to fossick as well as just sightseeing. Fishing on Coopers Creek at Innaminka, with historical sights from Sturt’s and Bourke and Will’s expeditions into the centre of Australia, is definitely worth a 6 hour drive. A 15 minute drive to Mt Poole Station and you can see Depot Glen, Poole’s Grave and Mt Poole all dating back to Sturt’s trek. Not to mention friendly people and good pubs at Milparinka and Tibooburra when the need arises.
