Easy Apple Strudel Easy Apple Strudel INGREDIENTS: 2 Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and ¼ to 1 cup golden raisins coarsely shredded 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed 1 Granny Smith apple (or 1/2 pear - peeled, cored 1 egg and sliced) (optional) 1/4 cup milk ¾-1 cup brown sugar DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Apples and Pears: 1. Wash, peel, core, and shred or chop into small pieces. 2. Place fruits in a large bowl. 3. Stir in brown sugar and golden raisins; set aside. 4. Place puff pastry on baking sheet. Roll lightly with a rolling pin. 5. Arrange apple filling down the middle of the pastry lengthwise. 6. Fold the pastry lengthwise around the mixture. Seal edges of pastry by using a bit of water on your fingers, and rubbing the pastry edges together. 7. Whisk egg and milk together, and brush onto top of pastry. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown. (Note: Check at 20 minutes.)
