Art club is about Steam Punk. Steam Punk is a genre of science fiction that typical- ly features steam powered machinery. The head of the club is Mrs. McAndrew. In the club we paint, make posters, and costumes. Currently, we are doing a paint pro- jects. We are currently deciding the theme of our project. An exclusive interview with Christina Auck

Q: What made you want to play football? A: I just wanted to play, just because I wanted to.

Q: Do you mind playing with boys? A: I didn't mind playing, but from my perspective they could get an- noying.

Q: Did you enjoy knocking boys down? A: I did, because it showed that I was tough enough to play with them.

Q: Did anyone say anything about you playing football? A: No, but the ref said that I was the cutest person on the field.

Q: Was it exciting to be on the news? A: It was okay, I was really nervous though.

Q: Do your coaches except that you're a girl? A Yes, otherwise they wouldn't have put me on the team.

Q: Would you like to influence other girls to play football? A: Yes, but I wouldn't want it to be an all girls league.

THIS WEEK'S CLASSROOM NEWS: Computers in Mr. Spooner's Class

Halina Dreger

Mr. Nemo has a new project on his hands- putting computers into Mr. Spooner's Language Arts and Social Studies classroom! The class has been venturing up to the 320 computer room for weeks now, and it takes a while to get upstairs and started. But it is worth it, because thanks to the technolo- gy, the class has been able to accomplish many things in a quicker amount of time. For example, they do something called literature circle. One day they read a section of the book. Thanks to the comment application on Google Drive, they can take notes on the section easily. The next day, they write something on the section from a certain viewpoint. Thanks to the computer, they can type it. But the process isn’t over yet. The students have different groups, and they share what they wrote on the section with each other. The comment application on Google Drive allows them to accomplish this virtu- ally. So Mr. Nemo has decided to put computers into Mr. Spooner’s classroom! Soon the desks will be moved out and tables and desktop computers will be put in. While they await the arrival of the computers, they are using touchscreen netbooks, which are great but more frustrating to work with. There are already two new computers in his class, and the rest are on the way. However, there will not be enough computers for every students. At least five students will need to use netbooks and desks, still, unless we can get Garfield to give us some. But still, every student will get the chance to use the desktop computer. Mr. Nemo is putting a lot of effort into this project. Thank you!!!!!!!!
