Bangkok Tours & Excursions HALF DAY TOURS 1. Art and Culture of Bangkok's Klong THBKAK This tour will begin at 13:00. What to expect: Catch a glimpse of Bangkok’s cultural side during this half-day Bangkok art and culture tour. Take an excursion to an artisan community for a closer look at the ancient traditions with modern artistic styles of the Thai capital. Travel to the Chao Phraya River and board a private longtail boat for a ride along Bangkok's ancient canals. Pass by shop houses, temples, and residences designed in a range of architectural styles. This diversity demonstrates the rich heritage of these former trading routes. The boat emerges at Baan Silapin, a 100-year-old house that has been renovated and transformed into an art gallery. The gallery serves as a central gathering point for the community’s artisans. Spend time browsing the works of art on display and learn about Thailand’s modern arts scene. There may be time to take a short walk around the community and see the traditional houses that line the canal. At Baan Silipin, there is also a chance to see intricately-designed Thai puppets. Learn about this ancient art form and, if lucky, the puppeteers may put on a live performance. Return to the boat late in the afternoon and cruise back toward town. Make a stop at Wat Arun, the ‘Temple of Dawn’, for the day’s final visit then travel onwards to the hotel. Time: 13:00 – 17:00 Departure: Daily Note: Appropriate dress is required for a visit to temples Shorts, mini-skirts, tight fitting trousers, sleeveless shirts or vests, and sandals are NOT allowed. ● Puppet show operates in the afternoon only but is not available on Mondays and Tuesdays (subject to change without notice) Pricing Net in THAI BAHT PER PERSON / Based on English Speaking Guide Join-In Tour Min. of 4 persons Art and Culture of Bangkok’s Klong 1,920 17-Sep-18 1 2.
