Today all students Kindergarten to Year 10 have the Year 11 Industrial Technology Metals opportunity to watch a drumming performance in Ungarie. This Wednesday all students in Years 5 and 6 will be heading to Leeton to compete in the Steve Mortimer Shield. Students will be joining with Naradhan and St Francis Lake Cargelligo. Students will need to be at school by 7.50am on Wednesday morning to be taken to Leeton. Students estimated return from Leeton will be between 4pm -4.30pm.

HSC Chemistry

Ricky Riley will attend a HSC Chemistry Study Day in

Condobolin on Friday. I hope this day helps Ricky achieve

the high results he is capable of in his coming assessments

and exams. Bill, Riley, Damon and Dylan were to join with Ungarie next week to play cricket in the next round of the PSSA Exams Knockout however their opponent have forfeited and they will now move forward to the next round. The A reminder to all Junior Secondary students that you will boys will take on a school in Dubbo area. More details have half yearly exams starting next week. These exams will be given once we know. Stage 5 Entrepreneurship excursion to Parkes

On Monday the 9th of May, stage 5 students and

Mr West travelled to Parkes to be part of the

launch of a new program being run by Intel and the

Department of Education which is based around

innovation and entrepreneurship. Students were

able to hear from those who had been successful

entrepreneurs and learn about what skills you

need to achieve success. They will be involved in

an ongoing program where they need to come up

with ideas that are able to solve problems we face

in our everyday lives and can be capitalised on.

Stage 5 Geography Salinity excursion to Condobolin/ On Friday the 6th of May, stage 5 students and Mr West travelled to Condobolin to be involved in a joint excursion with Condobolin High School focused on the issue of salinity. Students were able to see the effect this geographic issue has had on different areas of the town; from buildings in town, to farmland and Gum Bend Lake. This excursion tied in with their study of salinity in the classroom

‘LIFE ON THE LAND’ PHOTOS

This term in art lessons, we are creating a whole school collage to put in the Blue Waters Art Competition. The theme is ‘Life on the Land.’ I would love it if each student in our school could contribute a photo to this. The photo should be either one that you have taken, or one taken of you. It can be any photo that you think relates to life on the land. Some ideas could include:  A photo of you doing a job or hobby that is unique to country life.  A photo of the landscape.

 A close up of an interesting texture or pattern eg. machinery parts, dirt, a wood stack. Research shows us that family reading time  A photo of something showing farm life. is one of the BEST ways to grow a child’s  A photo of a local place, event or building. interest in the wonderful world of books.  Something old that you have found We encourage students to read with a family member for at least 10 minutes every Please email your photo to day. ENVYIOUS HAIR TULLIBIGEAL BRANCH LAKE CARGELLIGO

Congratulations to Ellen, Heather, Carol, Tara, Deonye and Ella for their entries in the State Handicraft and Land Cookery competitions. Our branch also competed in the Wagga Daily Advertiser Award for Publicity. Unfortunately we didn’t come home with any wins this year, but it Open Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm was certainly an honour to represent our Tuesday to Saturday, also late night community. Carol and Steph were our delegates Thursday and had a busy time considering the motions which were discussed. They were pleased with the Closed Mondays outcomes.

We selected a date for CWA Awareness Day at our THIS WEEKS SPECIALS ARE: last meeting. This will be held on the 13 September. Further details of guest speakers will 1/2 price Colours with Tash come at a later date. Our International day will be Eye Brow Wax, Eye Brow Tint & Eyelash Tint held on 29 July with a number of special guests on the day.
