Dear Case Officer,
I am writing to endorse the written representations made by the following Interested Parties in relation to the “North Wales Wind Farms Connections” National Infrastructure Planning Examination. The application is to construct pylons to connect wind farms on Denbigh Moor to the grid at St Asaph. Much of the route is in my constituency of the Vale of Clwyd. Many of the objections, which I have summarised below, centre on adverse visual impact and effects on the historic environment, tourism, business and property. The area is particularly sensitive in terms of the landscape and both Denbighshire County Council and Conwy County Council have passed motions requesting undergrounding of the cables.
Ramblers Association – visual impact Denbighshire County Council – tourism impact Nantglyn Community Council – visual impact Trefnant Community Council – request for undergrounding Cefn Meiriadog & Glascoed Road Residents Group – visual impact Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales – visual impact Cefn Meiriadog Community Council – visual impact Llanynys Community Council – request undergrounding Pylon the Presssure Group – visual impact, heritage impact, tourism impact Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd Community Council – visual impact Henllan Community Council – visual impact Derwen Community Council – visual impact Clocaenog Community Council – adverse effects on historic environment, tourism and business Cyffyliog Community Council – impact on property value Llanrhaeadr Community Council – undergrounding requested due to visual impact, historic environment, tourism impact, socio-economic impact, property value. Llanefydd Community Council – visual impact Llansannan Community Council – visual impact
In addition to this e-mail I am also sending a hard copy letter by post,
Yours faithfully,
Dr James Davies MP Vale of Clwyd Constituency 1 Hanover House The Roe St Asaph Denbighshire LL17 0LT Tel: 01745 583270 Mobile: 07791 804599
