Geng to the Aletsch Arena aletscharena.ch/geng-here Riederalp, BeKmeralp and Fiesch-Eggishorn are the three holiday resorts at the heart of the Aletsch Arena in the canton of Valais. They can be reached safely and easily by car or train at any 2me of year. Riederalp, BeKmeralp and Fiescheralp are all car free! The final part of the journey takes place by cable car from the sta2ons in Mörel, BeKen Valley or Fiesch. Day 1 11:00 – 11:30 Arrive in the Aletsch Arena (Riederalp, BeKmeralp or Fiesch-Eggishorn) Three viewpoints (Moosfluh, BeKmerhorn or Eggishorn) Hohfluh and Moosfluh – magnificent vantage points by the Great Aletsch Glacier The Moosfluh viewpoint, a high-energy site, is situated at 2,333m above sea level, close to the Hohfluh viewpoint at an al2tude of 2,227m. Both loca2ons offer breathtaking views of the Great Aletsch Glacier. A short, comfortable trip on the modern cableway brings visitors up to the vantage points from Riederalp. Once at the top, the giant glacier seems close enough to touch, making the Hohfluh and Moosfluh viewpoints ideal for a trip you’ll never forget. BeFmerhorn – a peak experience at the Great Aletsch Glacier A mountain and its many faces: enjoyment of nature is not BeKmerhorn’s only aKrac2on. A combina2on of sport, nature and culture makes this viewpoint a unique way to experience the mountain. Situated at 2,647m, it is easily reached on a short cable-car ride with BeKmeralp Bahnen. The magnificent view of the Great Aletsch Glacier is just one of the many mountain experiences awai2ng visitors to the BeKmerhorn viewpoint. Eggishorn – a perfect 360° panorama It’s possible to admire the full length and impressive majesty of the Great Aletsch Glacier from Eggishorn, the viewpoint located at 2,869 metres. Not only that – whichever direc2on you turn, you’ll find the highest peaks: the Mönch, the Eiger, the Jungfrau, the Wannenhorn, the Finsteraarhorn and, to the west, the Weisshorn, the Mischabel group with the Dom, and the added bonus of the MaKerhorn itself, all of which form a breathtaking 360° panorama. Glacier World BeFmerhorn – bringing the exhibi=on experience alive This mul2media exhibi2on presents an in-depth explora2on of the secrets of the Great Aletsch Glacier, uncovering the exci2ng facts and fascina2ng stories that are buried in this gigan2c mass of perpetual ice. During the exhibi2on experience, visitors of all ages can learn interes2ng facts about the glacier as they embark on an exci2ng journey of discovery involving playful explora2on and relaxed enjoyment, with a view of the Great Aletsch Glacier. The exhibi2on is free of charge. Viewpoint tours can also be booked as an overall package including lunch. ! Day 2 Guided snowshoe tour (from 14:00 to 18:00, as desired) A snowshoe tour guided by someone who knows the area well is the best way to explore the Aletsch Arena on snowshoes. On the tour, your guide will take you to the most beau2ful places in the Aletsch Arena, share 2ps and techniques, and introduce you to some absolute highlights. Dates: on request, cost: from CHF 200 all-in for the group Snowshoe and pole hire CHF 10 per person, dura2on: 2 to 6 hours, depending on customer requirements 14:00 – 16:00 Ski refresher lessons Is it a long 2me since you last stood on skis? Get to grips with the basics again and rediscover the joy of skiing. Dates: 2 anernoons, on request Cost: From CHF 160 per person excluding ski equipment (if required, skis can be hired at a special price), dura2on: two 2-hour sessions 17:00 – 18:00 Airboard & sledging fun Unlimited fun for sledging fans – including those who want to try something completely new: the airboard. The popular, fun airboard and sledging event by the Moosfluh gondola sta2on provides the ideal opportunity: once the skiing day is over, the blue slope belongs to the sledgers alone. Dates: Every Wednesday (February to March 2017), only in good weather condi2ons Other dates can be arranged by appointment Cost: from CHF 10 per person, airboard or sledge hire CHF 10 per person, dura2on: 2 to 6 hours, depending on customer requirements ! Day 3 Winter hiking A winter hike is probably the most resoul way to discover the magical landscape of the Aletsch Arena in the snow. Fortunately, 72km of well-prepared winter hiking trails offer visitors ample opportunity to do so. With the Valais sun warm on your back and dazzled by the sparkling, snow-covered landscape, a winter hike in the Aletsch Arena becomes a truly memorable experience: where else are hikers rewarded with panoramic views of the 4000-metre Valais peaks and the Great Aletsch Glacier? Located at 1,845 to 2,869m in al2tude, the ski area has ideal condi2ons from December to April. And what is more: the most libera2ng natural experience in the Alps is also the most libera2ng winters sports experience that any skier or snowboarder could imagine. Ski-in, ski-out is the magic recipe that makes every winter sports enthusiast smile. In the Aletsch Arena, it comes as standard! So if you don’t fancy sledging, you can jump on a fat bike instead and ride the 13km sledge run from Fiescheralp down to Lax. But not without first enjoying a fondue to for2fy you ahead of your downhill dash. Dates: Each Tuesday evening. Individual dates may be arranged by appointment. Equipment: Warm winter clothing with winter boots, ski trousers, ski jacket and gloves. Bike light and helmet are provided.
