Initiatives in Partnership with the University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre, and Dance • Summer 2020: • Developed and co-taught the pilot course “The Art of Recital” with Thomas Hampson • Developed, coordinated and executed the “The Art of Democracy” Conversation Series (Facebook Live), with Thomas Hampson and U-M faculty • Fall 2020: • UROP Mentor for the project Song of America (3 students) • Coordinator for “Sing My Song” with youth at Corner Health (Ypsilanti) & The School at Marygrove (Detroit), as well as U-M SMTD students Christie Finn Resume • Coordination and research support for the Humanities Collaboratory 5x5 “The Art of Democracy” Major Projects with the Hampsong Foundation: • Song of America Curriculum Initiative to help educators at all levels use radio series and website (2015-present) Responsibilities: o developing and managing several national workshops and events o coordinating with young artists, presenters, and event attendees, as well as venues and institutions involved o directing the use of cutting-edge technology in the LOLA (Low-Latency) Node, in collaboration with Manhattan School of Music Distance Learning o managing live-streams from select events o following up with participants to improve future versions of the workshop o producing the promotional video “Song of America: Telling the Story of American Culture” in conjunction with Lavine Production Group • SWR2 German translation of radio series Song: Mirror of the World (2015-2018) Responsibilities: o initiating the project with SWR2 o collaborating with the SWR2 translator and her colleagues to create the program script translations o coordinating between Mr. Hampson, the Hampsong Foundation and SWR2 in regards to Binalizing scripts, as well as contracting and scheduling • Collaborative events with the Heidelberg Lied Akademie (2016-present) Responsibilities: o coordinating between Mr. Hampson, young artists, the Heidelberger Frühling Festival, and production engineers (for online streaming) o developing the program and stage-managing the medici.tv events o promoting live-streamed events via e-newsletter, websites, and social media • Song: Mirror of the World, a 13-program radio series, syndicated by the WFMT Radio Network (Chicago) and PRX (Public Radio Exchange) (2013-2015) Responsibilities: o crafting the structure and content of the series in close collaboration with Mr. Hampson o serving as Project Manager for the series, coordinating between Mr. Hampson, script writers/musicologists, and the series producers o leading a successful crowd-funding campaign, which raised over $24,000 to supplement funds raised privately by others o writing two scripts for the series: “A Diary of Our Times” and “The ‘89s” o marketing the series on social media and through a self-produced audio preview, as well as developing web resources to accompany the series o providing research assistance to all parties involved Other Projects with the Hampsong Foundation: • Singers on Singing: Great Artists in Conversation audio archive (2012-present) o collaborating with BBC documentarian Jon Tolansky 2 Christie Finn Resume • Song of America, a 13-program radio series syndicated by the WFMT Radio Network, which aired on over 300 public radio stations in the United States as well as in Europe and New Zealand (2010-2011) o conducting factual and musical research o script editing and development of accompanying web resources o writing two scripts for the series: “Emily Dickinson: Letter to the World” and “There is No Gender in Music’” • Past projects also include writing and editing a 48-page program narrative for a song recital by Mr. Hampson which took place at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum (2011) General Duties for the Hampsong Foundation • Content Management for the Hampsong Foundation and Song of America websites o generating online promotional materials, including news items, articles, and social media o organizing media and other content o designing and executing web presentations, such as Richard Strauss: A Life Never Without Song o for Song of America: assembling a comprehensive database of American classic song;
