The organisation of a performative art festival, Volume I Acknowledgements When I decided to do an Erasmus in my own country, it sounded funny and it still sounds now. I did it because I felt homesick, but also because I felt that an internship in Italy would have been a plus in my curriculum, especially in Florence. Of course, it was not a downhill route, for a lot of reasons. Strange to say, but at the beginning I had both cultural and language problems, having spent more than two years abroad. Besides, I knew nothing about dance and performing festivals, so as soon as I arrived at Fabbrica Europa, I had to make a huge effort and be open and ready to whatever this internship would put me through. It wasn’t easy and most of the times I was so tired I couldn’t even cook for myself, but it was beautiful. I would like to thank the people who made this possible, as this is not only an internship report, but the summary of 6 intense months of hard work and challenges. First of all, I would like to thank Professor Maria Leonor Barbosa Soares for accepting to guide me in this adventure: it’s not easy to follow somebody’s work when there are 2.000 km in the middle. Her support was fundamental, as I felt I could count on her and on her incredible knowledge. A big thank you goes to Maurizia Settembri, who taught me what is a festival and that you need to be strong and clever if you want to succeed. Besides Maurizia, Elisa Godani deserves my biggest “thank you”, as she followed me all the way through, being patient and showing me all the steps needed in order to make a festival happen. Nevertheless,
