Alpine out in Force at the 2016 Le Mans Classic
PRESS RELEASE 07072016 ALPINE OUT IN FORCE AT THE 2016 LE MANS CLASSIC • Three Official Renault Classic Alpines will compete in the 8th running of the Le Mans Classic July 8th, 9th and 10th • Several Alpine’s Le Manswinning models will be present at the legendary circuit • The SignatechAlpine team will be there with its World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) contender, the A460 that scored an LMP2 victory at Le Mans on June 19 • The Alpine Vision concept car will also be on show, alongside its illustrious forebears From day one, motor sport has been in Alpine’s genes. Before launching the marque to develop, build and sell sports cars, founder Jean Rédélé had been a driver of some distinction. Sixtyone years after its creation, the Alpine marque is still ready to take on a competitive challenge – and will underline as much from tomorrow when it takes part in the 8th running of the sumptuous automotive gathering that is the Le Mans Classic. For the 2016 edition, Renault Classic is entering three factory Alpines. They will be entrusted to topclass drivers who have previously competed for the marque in the Le Mans 24 Hours or else are well known within the motor sport industry. M65 (Grid 4), drivers: David Cheng/Stéphane Richelmi A110 (Grid 5), drivers: Christian Chambord/JeanPierre Prévost A443 (Grid 6), drivers Jean Ragnotti/Alain Serpaggi These three Alpines will be accompanied by other models that have been privately entered. Alpine’s Le Mans history Alpine contested the Le Mans 24 Hours 11 times between 1963 and 1978, entering 55 works cars during that period. -

Victory and podiums finishes in Sydney At the fourth round of the Australian GT Championship, Christopher Mies and Ryan Millier produced the best performance in an Audi R8 LMS ultra. At the Sydney Motorsport Park, the duo fielded by Audi customer team Jamec PEM Racing headed an Audi one-two finish. Second was Audi driver Nathan Antunes (Skwirk/Beechwood), who was third in race two ahead of Mies/Millier. There was also an Audi victory in the Trophy classification to celebrate: in race two, Mark Griffith won from his stablemates Greg Taylor/Barton Mawer. In the first race, Taylor/Mawer made the podium in third place. Tom Kristensen with Danish crown prince at golf tournament Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen was delighted about receiving an invitation to the European Tour with royal participation. The former professional racing driver competed in the Pro-Am class in the golf event ‘made in Denmark’ with two celebrity competitors – the Danish Crown Prince Frederik and the most successful Danish golfer Thomas Bjørn. Jacob Brunsborg, the son of Himmerland Golf Resort owner Lars Larsen, completed the team. Around 6,000 spectators attended the competition in Farsø in northern Denmark. -

Communiqué de presse Press release Confidential C 26/01/2021 Alpine Elf Matmut Team announces drivers for FIA WEC World Championship • Forty-three years after the outright victory of the Alpine A442b in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Alpine returns to the premier category of Endurance racing. • FIA WEC LMP2 World Champion in 2016, 2019 and triple winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Alpine Elf Matmut Team will join the 2021 championship in the Hypercar category with modest objectives but a desire to surprise. • The Alpine A480 n°36 will be entrusted to a squad of Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão and Matthieu Vaxivière. Boulogne-Billancourt, 26th January 2021 - LMP2 World Champion in 2016 and 2019, the Alpine Elf Matmut team has decided to take it to the next level in 2021 by entering the Hypercar category, the premier class of the 2021 FIA WEC Championship. The Alpine, named A480, will be emblazoned with its favourite number, #36, with which the team won the 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 category three times in the last five years. The aim for the Alpine Elf Matmut Team will be to surprise in its first season in the premier class. To this end it will count on the talent of its race team and three drivers. Frenchman Nicolas Lapierre, champion in 2016 and 2019, will be joined by Brazilian André Negrão, with whom he has shared many successes within the Alpine team. The crew will be completed by Frenchman Matthieu Vaxivière, an experienced endurance competitor with four entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, including two podiums in the LMP2 category in 2019 and 2020. -

The Aston Martin Vantage GTE is based on the critically-acclaimed Aston Martin Vantage road car, the most performance oriented sports car to come from Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century Plan’. Powered by a 4.0-litre, V8 turbo-charged AMG engine developed and optimised by AMR, the Vantage GTE is the first all-new GT car Aston Martin has introduced to the FIA WEC GTE category in seven years. Following an extensive 10-month testing and development programme that has covered 35,000km and 14 different circuits, the team is confident that it has a competitive and reliable car capable of repeating Aston Martin Racing's 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours glory in June and contending for the overall Super Season GTE Pro title. Aston Martin Racing also boasts a world class driving line-up in 2018. Press Release March 8, 2019 Preview, World Endurance Championship WEC, round 6 in Sebring/USA Porsche aims for victory at the FIA WEC’s return to Sebring Stuttgart. Porsche tackles the first Sports Car World Endurance Championship WEC race at Sebring since 2012 as the points’ leader. After five of the season’s eight rounds, the works team with its two ca. 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR ranks first in the manufactur- ers’, drivers’ and team categories. Three customer squads field four other identical vehicle models in the GTE-Am category. With the WEC held as a joint event alongside the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship from March 13-16, a total of eight Porsche 911 RSR vehicles will be competing on the legendary Sebring circuit. The race Sebring has hosted the Sports Car World Endurance Championship WEC only once since the launch of the series. In 2012, works drivers Marc Lieb (Germany), Richard Lietz (Austria) and Patrick Pilet (France) finished in second place. In the long history of endurance racing at Sebring, Porsche is by far the most successful manufacturer, with a total of 18 overall victories going to the marque from Weissach. The most recent victory was in 2008 thanks to Timo Bernhard (Germany), Romain Dumas (France) and Emmanuel Collard (France) at the wheel of a Porsche RS Spyder. The Porsche GT Team drivers Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) tackle the 1,000-mile race (or eight hours) with the No. 91 Porsche 911 RSR car. The pair achieved second place at the Shanghai round of the 2018/2019 Super Season. -

Press Release 8 April 2021 Porsche announces cockpit line-up for the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 8 Hours of Portimão With the experience of 59 Le Mans participations to the highlight of the year Stuttgart. Porsche has secured the support of two endurance aces for the two FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) races in Portimão and Le Mans. In the ca. 515 hp Porsche 911 RSR (#91), Frédéric Makowiecki reinforces the regular WEC drivers Gianmaria Bruni from Italy and Richard Lietz from Austria. The Frenchman has been part of the driver line-up to tackle the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the last three years. In the No. 92 car, Neel Jani from Switzerland and the Frenchman Kévin Estre receive reinforcement from Michael Christensen. The Dane won the GTE-Pro class at Le Mans in 2018 with Estre and Belgium’s Laurens Vanthoor. The experienced trio will also contest round two of the season in Portugal on 13 June. “Between them, these six nominated drivers have a total of 59 Le Mans races under their belts. This experience is invaluable,” explains Pascal Zurlinden, Director Factory Motorsport. Neel Jani won the overall classification of the 24-hour French classic in 2016 at the wheel of the Porsche 919 Hybrid – with Romain Dumas (France) and Marc Lieb (Germany). His five teammates have harvested eight class victories so far with the 911 RSR at the tradition-steeped endurance race at the Sarthe. “There’s absolutely no doubt that we’ll be very well-positioned for the highlight of the year. -

Press Release From 16th July through to 4th September 2016 Autoworld - Brussels Exhibition “The Alpine Story” Alpine! A name that reverberates pleasantly in the ears of all French motorsport aficionados! Alpine! Achieved fame in the car rally world throughout the ‘70s. Alpine! A make that Renault is going to revive this autumn 2016 with a top of the range Berlinette. The perfect opportunity for Autoworld to organise an exhibition based on this historic French sports machine during the upcoming summer months, from the 16th July through to the 4th September 2016. Some forty models will be on show on the mezzanine of the museum’s 1st floor to recall the ”success-story” of a truly mythical car. The Alpine’s road-going, rally and racing versions will be brought together on loan from various collectors and with the collaboration of among others Jean-Charles Rédélé, son of the constructor Jean Rédélé (1922-2007), Hervé Charbonneaux, Renault Belgium, Renault Heritage and several Alpine clubs. Visitors will have the chance to admire all the various models that brought glory to the make with the standard A106, A108, A110, A310, and A610 models, as also the A110 rally and racing versions, not forgetting a few racing models that competed at Le Mans and in single-seater competions. The exhibition is to be supplemented with automotive memorabilia, numerous documents and an historical insight into the make based on 1:43 and 1:18 scale models. Alpine Divers clubs have also foreseen to come together on the Esplanade du Cinquantenaire during this period. Alpine in a nutshell In June 1955, the driver Jean Rédélé, also a Renault concessionaire in Dieppe, set up the “Société des Automobiles Alpine" and presented the first Alpine to the media and the general public. -

Press Kit 2018 // introduction Launched in 2016 by Renault Sport Racing and Renault Sport Formula One Team, the Renault Sport Academy is tasked with discovering and nurturing young driver talent through the racing ranks, where, ultimately, Renault Sport Formula One Team aims to find drivers able to deliver the team world championship titles. Drivers are selected on ability and potential, with the Academy able to draw upon Renault Sport Racing’s vast experience in motorsport as well as its global markets to find such talent. Mia Sharizman manages the programme and has a range of experience in motorsport including at Formula 1, Formula 2 and GP3 level. For 2018, the Academy has retained four drivers from its 2017 intake. Jack Aitken, a member since its inception in 2016, signs for a third year, as does Sun Yue Yang. Max Fewtrell and Christian Lundgaard both impressed in their first seasons with the Academy and both remain for a second year. The Academy is delighted to welcome three new drivers to the programme. As part of his prize for winning the highly-competitive Formula Renault Eurocup, Sacha Fenestraz has agreed to accept a place with the Academy. Arthur Rougier, winner of the 2017 French Formula 4 Championship, is on-board for 2018, alongside Victor Martins, runner-up to Arthur in his rookie season of single-seater racing. Four members will go wheel to wheel in the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018 with Max, Christian, Arthur and Victor all set to contest the exciting series that races on nine Grand Prix circuits, including the streets of Monaco.
