The accessible mini-train is sporting proud Ontario Northland colours and is a tribute to the Polar Bear Express passenger train. The new paint scheme was unveiled in June at the Heritage Railway & Carousel Company in North Bay. This is the second paint job that Ontario Northland produced for this customer, the first train was the green and gold Ontario Northland heritage colours. The company welcomed 57,000 riders last summer which the corporation says they’re hoping to beat this year. - 2 - Polar Bear Express to be featured on AMI-tv! Accessible Media Inc.’s (AMI) recently climbed aboard the Polar Bear Express to film a segment for an upcoming television show Postcards from Northern Ontario. The documentary follows Alex Smyth as he goes on a sensory and descriptive tour of Cochrane, Moosonee and Moose Factory aboard the iconic Polar Bear Express. “I had a great time riding on the Polar Bear Express between Cochrane and Moosonee,” Alex says. “I really enjoyed the experience and having the opportunity to speak with passengers and hear their stories made the trip even better. I urge anyone thinking of taking a ride on the Polar Bear Express to do it, as there is no better way to witness the majesty of Ontario’s northern wilderness… and if that doesn’t capture their attention, maybe the delicious pizza subs will!” Postcards from Northern Ontario debuts Friday, August 30, at 7 p.m. Eastern on AMI-tv. Pictured with Dave Lallier myPolicies Coming - September 2019 Corporate Services will be introducing a new software called myPolicies, an easy-to-use web based policy management application that standardizes the administration of policies and procedures. This will replace the paper-based policy binder. Policies and policy groupings will still be available for printing, however, adopting new technology offers a paperless policy management process that reduces costs, improves efficiencies and allows staff to easily access the most current version of policies.
