Lake Commando, located in the center of our vibrant town is the hub to 4 seasons of fun; sliding, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and home to our new state of the art stage and Commando Park Pavilion where we host Ontario’s oldest Winter Carnival and our “Live like a Northerner” Summerfest. Nothing says northern like the Polar Bear Habitat, home to our 3 bears along with the Welcome Centre, Heritage Village and Snowmobile Museum – definitely on your ‘do not miss’ list . Come join us at the Tim Horton Event Centre, home to the NOJHL Cochrane Crunch Junior ‘A’ hockey team, 2018 Division Champion and hosts of the 2019 Dudley Hewitt Cup. While you’re there, enjoy the beautiful pool that has the flavor of the tropics where you can float in the lazy river and thrill on the giant slide! We have been voted one of the top 50 small towns to visit in Canada, top 10 cutest small towns in Ontario and the #1 snowmobile trails in the world! We are also transportation hub for the mining and lumber sector, and the originating point for the Polar Bear Express passenger train to Moosonee and points north.
