The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the “Accessory Installation Practices” document. This document covers such items as: Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, re-checking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/ Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Image: A C B Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC Page 5 of 12 TOYOTA 4Runner SR5 Step Board Pre-Installation Preparation NOTE: Be sure to remove the protective wrapping from the Step Boards and dispose properly, prior to installation. See Figure 1. 1. Verify and ensure all Kit and Hardware Contents are present. Protective NOTE: Due to the generic nature of Wrap the hardware kit some "extra" hardware may be present. Please save this hardware for replacement of damaged or lost hardware on future installations. Figure 1 NOTE: Wear eye protection. NOTE: Ensure all application areas are free from any dirt and debris that may damage the surface of the product or vehicle. 2. Separate and prepare the Bracket to Vehicle Hardware, 8mm x 30mm hex bolts, flat washers, and lock washers. Running Board Installation Figure 2 3. Using a 12mm socket, remove & discard OEM Hex bolts from all bracket positions underneath vehicle and plastic wind deflector in front of rear tire (New bolts are provided). See Figure 2. NOTE: For each side of the vehicle, Front bracket is the different bracket goes toward the different front. See Figure 3. NOTE: Front Driver Side and Passenger Side Brackets are identical (ambidextrous). All referred instruction procedures represent instructions on one side of the vehicle. Figure 3 Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC Page 6 of 12 TOYOTA 4Runner SR5 Step Board 4. Locate the 8mm factory-threaded holes. 8mm x 30mm Bolts, Flat Washers, Lock Washers 5. Position the Brackets onto the sidewall & align the Bracket holes to the factory holes. See Figure 4. 6. Secure the Brackets using the 8mm x 30mm hex bolts, flat washer and lock washers. 7. Repeat Steps 3-6 for the opposite side of the vehicle. Figure 4 8. IMPORTANT: Position the Board on the Three (3) per track 8mm brackets. Install (6) 8mm x 20mm bolts, x 20mm Bolt three per track align with brackets. See Figure 5. Install 8mm serrated flange nuts. 9. Leave the Hardware loose at this time. 10. Torque sequence (Passenger/Driver side). IMPORTANT: Prior to final Torque sequence, ensure that the bracket is positioned flush on the vehicle sidewall. Figure 5 IMPORTANT: Gap between rear end cap and rear bracket must be 9.5mm (3/8”). See Figure 6. 11. Torque all twelve 8mm Hex Bolts (Bracket to Vehicle) to 14nm (10ft. lbs). 12. Torque all twelve 8mm Flange nuts (Bracket to Running Board) to 14nm (10ft. lbs). 13. Re-Torque both passenger & drivers sides after initial torque has been set. Re- Torque all twelve 8mm Hex Bolts Figure 6 (Bracket to Vehicle) to 10 ft. lbs. Torque: 10ft. lbs. 14. Print Warranty Statement and place in the glove Box, DIO Only. ACCESSORY FUNCTION CHECK LOOK FOR: Board tighten properly. All bolts are tightened to proper specifications. No abnormal noise when weight is applied. Torque bolts to target: 8mm Hex Bolts (Bracket to Vehicle) to (10ft. lbs). -/+25% 7.5~ 12.5ft. lbs 8mm Flange nuts (Bracket to Running Board) Verify torque wrench is being used during installation. View alignment of Running Board Verify that there is no interference with front Fender Flair & Mud Flap. Warranty Statement Place Warranty Statement in the glove Box. DIO Only. Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC Page 8 of 12 TOYOTA 4Runner SR5 Step Board Procedure Example: Step Board Torque Procedure 7) Loosely install the bolts, and flat washers to the factory- threaded hole. 8) Position the Step Board all the way inboard. 9) Scan identifiers in the following order. Visually confirm correct entries in controller and flashing red light turns on. FIG 1 a) VIN Number b) Part Number Note: If an incorrect barcode is scanned, Front of Vehicle complete the scan procedure then repeat until correct identifiers have been received. 10) Use Atlas Copco STB nutrunner shown in FIG 1 to torque fasteners. 11) Torque fasteners in order as shown in FIG 2. 12) Once job is complete verify on controller. PURPOSE. This advisory circular (AC) provides an interactive specification that airports can use in procuring Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. 2. SCOPE. The three main phases of the ARFF vehicle procurement process are presented in this AC, including the: a. Description of the vehicle selection process; b. Selection of vehicle requirements; and c. Production of a formal specification. This AC contains information based on the minimum ARFF vehicle requirements established by Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 139, Certification of Airports. The AC is also based on the FAA additions, exemptions, or amendments made to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 414, Standard for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Vehicles (2007 Edition) (as referenced in Appendix A of this document) and NFPA 1901, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus (2009 Edition). Sec. 683. (1) A person shall not drive or move or the owner shall not cause or knowingly permit to be driven or moved on a highway a vehicle or combination of vehicles that is in such an unsafe condition as to endanger a person, or that does not contain those parts or is not at all times equipped with lamps and other equipment in proper condition and adjustment as required in sections 683 to 711, or that is equipped in a manner in violation of sections 683 to 711. A person shall not do an act forbidden or fail to perform an act required under sections 683 to 711. (2) A police officer on reasonable grounds shown may stop a motor vehicle and inspect the motor vehicle, and if a defect in equipment is found, the officer may issue the driver a citation for a violation of a provision of sections 683 to 711. (3) In order to be classified as a motor carrier enforcement officer, a police officer must have training equal to the minimum training requirements, including any annual training updates, established by the department of state police for an officer of the motor carrier division of the department of state police. A police officer who has received training equal to these minimum training requirements before the effective date of this section is considered a motor carrier enforcement officer for purposes of this act.

    BUTTS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 78’ AERIAL SPECIFICATIONS Intent of Specifications It is the intent of these specifications to clearly describe the furnishing and delivery to the Purchaser, a complete apparatus equipped as specified. The primary objective of these specifications is to obtain the most acceptable apparatus for service in the Fire Department. These specifications cover specific requirements as to the type of construction and tests the apparatus must conform, together with certain details as to finish, material preferences, equipment and appliances with which the successful bidder must conform. The design of the apparatus must embody the latest approved automotive design practices. The workmanship must be of the highest quality in its respective field. Special consideration shall be given to service access to areas needing periodic maintenance, ease of operation, and symmetrical proportions. Construction must be heavy-duty and ample safety factors must be provided to carry loads as specified. The construction method employed will be in such a manner as to allow ready removal of any component for service or repair. The apparatus shall conform to the National Fire Protection Association Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus, number 1901, in its most recent edition, unless otherwise specified in this document. Only the specified firefighting support equipment listed in these specifications shall be provided. The apparatus shall further conform to all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. No exception. Each bidder shall furnish satisfactory evidence of their ability to design, engineer, and construct the apparatus specified and shall state the location of the factory producing the apparatus. They shall also substantiate they are in a position to render prompt and proper service and to furnish replacement parts for the apparatus.
