Naidoo (Mechanical Engineer) Tel: 031 311 8318 Cell: 074 415 4040 Email: [email protected] EVALUATION: CIDB Standard Conditions of Tender: Method 1 (Price and Preference) CLARIFICATION MEETING: A compulsory clarification meeting will take place at Mechanical Workshop, 17 Electron Road, Springfield, Durban on Friday, 27th November 2020 from 10am to 12pm. The site meeting provides an opportunity for tenderers to take pictures, measurements and view the equipment, all questions relating to the scope or tender must be submitted on email. Tenderers are required to confirm their attendance and to book a 15-minute appointment or else will have to wait for an available slot. All COVID-19 precautions must be respected: Wearing of masks, social distancing, regular sanitizing and washing of hands and complete a screening procedure. Tenderers will be required to fill in a screening form, an attendance register and a certificate of attendance contained in the tender document. A representative of the Employer shall sign the certificate of attendance during the site meeting. CLOSING DATE: The closing date for this tender will be Wednesday, 2nd December 2020 at 11am. Tenders must be deposited in the EWS tender box at the Customer Service Centre, at 133 K.E. Masinga Road, Durban by the time and date stated. Tenders must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the contract number, description, Tenderer’s name and closing date and time. CIDB REGISTRATION: Note that only tenders from contractors registered with the Construction Industries Development Board for category 1ME or greater will be considered. Tenderer’s will be required to submit proof with their tender of registration and CIDB registration number, a tax clearance certificate and an affidavit confirming that the tenderer has no Municipal debt. Any company not submitting these three items with their tender will not be considered. (F.1.2) Tenders must be submitted on official tender documentation issued (in hard copy) by the eThekwini Municipality. (F.2.7) A Compulsory clarification meeting will be held at the Mechanical and Electrical Workshop, Springfield Depot, 17 Electron Road, Springfield, Durban, 4001 on the 27th of November 2020 at 10:00am. This document is obtainable separately, and Tenderers shall obtain their own copies. 3) In addition, Tenderers are advised, in their own interest, to obtain their own copies of the following acts, regulations, and standards referred to in this document as they are essential for the Tenderer to get acquainted with the basics of construction management, the implementation of preferential construction procurement policies, and the participation of targeted enterprise and labour. The Construction Industry Development Board Act No 38 of 2000 and the Regulations issued in terms of the Act (July 2013).
