This elegant translation of the most famous fabulist of modern times (if we may- be allowed to call tbe seventeenth century modern), is the work of an American author, who has admirably succeeded in embodying both the spirit, the grace, and the vivacity of the original in the translation. As Fables have interested and instructed mankind in every age, and as the Fables of La Fontaine may be said to be the standard collection of modern times, this translation has been considered as a most appropriate addition to the Universal Library. All Heads of Schools are informed that the existing Library setup in Govt. Schools till 2016-17 has been revamped in the light of announcement made in the Budget speech of Hon'ble Dy. CM IMoE for 2017-18. Accordingly, Govt. Schools will have a three tier Library system i.e Classroom libraries in each class from class Nursery to V, a separate Middle School Library for classes VI to X and an exclusive library for the class XI to XII in 400 select schools and upgraded existing libraries in the rest of the schools for classes VI to XII .
