The amount of Rs 1,00,000/- is a one time allocation and is to be used for purchase of library books and other library related materials with no restrictive upper limits in any category. Each school is free to decide the proportion of the allocation of Rs 1,00,000/- to be spent on a particular category in accordance with their needs. The Heads of Schools must ensure that • all the Codal formalities as required should be completed during the process of procurement. • approval of the competent authority be taken by the Head of School wherever applicable. • in no case expenditure should exceed the fund allocated. • the expenditure shall be incurred strictly in accordance with norms/guidelines of the schemes. The Heads of schools must ensure that the subject books procured on the recommendations of the school library purchase committee (as indicated in para- 2 of Table-2 above), fulfil the following criteria: - • the Books purchased should be from prominent and reputed publishers and should be of high quality in terms of content and physical appearance. • the content of subject readings and reference books of different subjects should complement the curriculum. • for Subject reading, the books/titles purchased should be text books and not guide books. 1 11 • the minimum prescribed discount as per rules should be availed on purchase. • the books of subject reading and reference books of different subjects should be of the latest edition duly incorporating all changes/ modifications in the current syllabus. • the procurement process of books should be completed on or before the 30th September 2018.
