The room was originally designed and built as a showroom for VOX musical equipment in the 60's, before becoming Sound City Studios. The control room currently houses a solid state Altec 9200 console, paired with a proprietary monitor console design, and the space continues to lend its sonic signature to the recordings made at Fairfax. Studio B's tight and dry acoustics provide a perfect contrast to the liveliness of Studio A, and can be heard on records from Neil Young, Queens of the Stone Age and Charles Manson. With an 18' x 26' live room and 9' x 18' iso booth, Studio B is a great space for tracking and overdubs. Fairfax renovated the studio space and installed a 1960's Spectra Sonics console that was previously used at the Grand Ole Opry. Property Details Report Page 3 of 3 ID #: 3780.
