    Las relaciones China y América Latina en 2015 Marcos Cordeiro Pires, Gustavo Enrique Santillán y José Luis Valenzuela Álvarez 52 Introducción Los organizadores del Anuario de la Integración 2015 de CRIES nos desafiaron a pensar la evolución de las relaciones latinoamericanas durante el período 2014/2015. Si concentrásemos el análisis en el comercio y las inversiones, como habíamos hecho en la edición anterior, no tendríamos mucho para decir. Por eso, buscamos analizar la evolución de las relaciones sino-latinoamericanas a partir de nuevos elementos, como los avances en el campo político, el impacto de la reducción de los precios de los commodities en las economías locales, e inclusive en el impacto del ingreso de compañías automovilísticas chinas en el MERCOSUR. De hecho, cuando se analiza la relación entre China y los países de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) entre 2014 y 2015, la primera cuestión a ser considerada es la caída en el volumen de comercio entre los socios. De manera específica, en el caso de Brasil, tras haber alcanzado el flujo comercial su punto cúlmine en 2013 -momento en que sumó 83 mil millones de dólares- ocurrió una reducción del 7%, para 2014, o sea, un monto de 78 mil millones. Para los primeros nueve meses de 2015, este volumen cayó aún más, en un 16% respecto al en 2015 China y América Latina Las relaciones mismo período de 2014. Visto desde el lado latinoamericano, además de la caída en el volumen exportado a China, pesó la fuerte reducción en el precio de commodities como la soja (-25%), el hierro (-54%), el petróleo (-50%) y el azúcar (-20%), revelando así una crisis de mayor profundidad, que ha alcanzado a otros países de ALC.

    BALADA PARA UN LOCO La capacidad intelectual de Francisco Macrì variaba según la conveniencia de su hijo Presidente POR HORACIO VERBITSKY La capacidad intelectual de Francisco Macrì, quien murió el sábado 2 de marzo al borde de los 89 años, variaba según la conveniencia de sus hijos, el Presidente de la Nación y sus hermanos Gianfranco y Mariano Macrì. En diciembre de 2018, Francisco Macrì fue relevado de prestar declaración indagatoria ante el juez federal Claudio Bonadío en una de las colectoras de la causa madre sobre la cartelización de la obra pública. Un fulminante peritaje médico sostuvo que no estaba en condiciones de comprender de qué se lo acusaba y, en consecuencia, de defenderse. Sin embargo, pocos meses antes aprobó la distribución de 2.257.815 libras esterlinas a los accionistas de Macrì Group LLP, compañía británica de la cual el patriarca del clan posee el 75% de los derechos de voto, según los documentos que acompañan esta nota, tomados de sitios oficiales del Reino Unido. Un nuevo escándalo, sofocado por la muerte. Esa compañía no forma parte de las incluidas en los Panama Papers y responde al clásico modus operandi de los Macrì: cajas chinas y espejos conforman un laberinto en el que es imposible seguir cualquier pista: compañías cuyos accionistas y/o directivos son otras compañías, con sede en los lugares más dispares del mundo, desde los Emiratos Árabes, el Caribe angloparlante, Belice o la isla de Hong Kong, que se cierran y dejan su lugar a otras, a veces con nombre parecido, otras por completo distinto.

The clients named in the database, who were exposed by media outlets across the world on April 3 (SourceMex, Apr. 13, 2016), have been the subject of a scandal that has revealed the extent of politicians’ involvement in the offshore financial industry. The anonymous leak to the ICIJ contains evidence of more than 214,000 offshore companies created by Mossack Fonseca for its clients since the firm was founded in Panama City in 1977. Most Argentines earnestly believe that the country has overcome the enormous economic crisis of 2001-2002 thanks to the exports to China, and that also greatly mitigate the global crisis of 2008-2009, which has had mild effect on Argentina. China is now the second most important trade partner of Argentina, surpassing traditional ones like Europe and the United States, and is the most important market for the agribusiness sector. After more than a half century period of relative economic decline, in recent years some Argentines even believe that restoration of dreams of at least a modest dose of grandeur might be achievable again. For many domestic observers there is a certain déjà vu in the current situation with China that resembles the close relationship that Argentina has with the British Empire at the beginning of the 20th century. However, others mistrust China’s intentions. This article will examine Argentina’s relations with Asia (China, Japan, Korea and SE Asia and India) and specifically the impact of China’s re-emergence on Argentina’s own recovery after the crisis of twelve years ago, and map some trends for the coming years.
