The Lichfield Folk Festival is a weekend event in June each year which comprises a continuous series of indoor dance events taking place in various venues throughout the City with bands and callers from all over t he country and occasionally beyond. During the weekend there are also street displays in the city centre and at the west end of the Cathedral which include a wide range of dance traditions.

Music is also of major importance when musicians of all abilities are invited to bring their instruments and join with other experienced players at several workshops during the weekend. More info at www.lichfieldfolkfestival.co.uk

The Festival is run by six local Folk Dance Clubs which meet on a weekly basis at Burton, Cannock, Lichfield, Rugeley, Stafford and Walsall who all exist to maintain and promote the English Folk Dance tradition.
